Just trying to spoil your fun Andy. 😉 They just published yesterday (actually, I think one is still pending). It happened to be that CO who sparked this. He contacted me about copying my WRRs which I was more than happy to have him join in. It got me thinking it was the right time to try and recruit some others to see all 108 get done.
That sucks… lol I was in Door County on saturday, would have loved to hunt them!
05/18/2010 at 12:27 am #1929017I’ll take care of the Marinette County rustic roads which has three of them. I’ll get back to you.
05/18/2010 at 12:34 am #1929018We have one on the Rustic Road going right by our house, but it’s pretty “trashy,” so I wouldn’t want to feature it.
However……..I have been planning out stages for a WhereIGo that would pretty much follow this road and feature the reasons for its designation. Only problem? I am so impossibly tech impaired, figuring out the WIG builder is tougher for me than trying to read Urdu script. If I can ever get it together, I’d certainly be glad to add this designation, though.
05/18/2010 at 4:51 am #1929019Okay Jay….looks like it is time for you to start thinking about where you are going to hide the Wisconsin WRR Challenge for those who find all 108 WRR caches! You must be getting very close to find CO’s for all of them! So glad you posted. I would hide some WRR’s, but all the RR’s in this are already have caches….some cacher dude from the Oshkosh area I think! 😉
The views expressed here are that of myself only and do not necessarily represent that of the WGA board.
05/18/2010 at 5:22 am #1929020Ok. SO is this gonna turn into a State Challange? I think it would be pretty kewl!
05/18/2010 at 3:31 pm #1929021You can sign us up for RR29 too. We forgot that Snake Road is a rustic road-we’ve run on that hilly critter many times!
05/18/2010 at 7:17 pm #1929022I just realized that a caching buddy has a cach on RR#68 in Rock County.
Check it out http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=3aa1fa65-d8b9-45f3-8094-d5b33cdbb14a.
I will contact the cache owner and let him know.
I also placed one on RR#19 in dane county and will post it soon.05/19/2010 at 2:26 am #1929023I’ll try to get a new one on #15 in Burnett County.

108 Sawyer05/19/2010 at 2:06 pm #1929026Since BakRdz has taken our area “back roads”, we are up for a road trip to check out some of the others within our range. We’ll take a look at 21, 49, 69, and 104 to see what can be done. #69 near Portage has one of sloughfoot’s Trail of the Serpent caches at the end of it: GCTQXD . Not sure if you should mix the TOTS and the WRR designations, though.
If we decide to put caches where none exist, I would assume we should try to follow the basics of the ones you put out as far as a cache page and a hide would go. Just so we don’t have to make a “typical BakRdz” container. 😉
As far as maintenance goes, give us a shout if you need any for 14 and 50.
05/19/2010 at 2:48 pm #1929027Hid and submitted Road 33 today.

05/19/2010 at 3:10 pm #1929029One of those Jefferson ones is right behind my house. I had a cache there a while back, I could put one there again. I think it was 87, but I’m not sure…

Tried to get 86 placed yesterday but daughter had other plans for me…hope to have it in place today. Page should look something like this:
WRR 86
Wisconsin Rustic Road 86
Drive with caution and be prepared to stop!
Please be aware that the Glacial Drumlin Bike route crosses Waterville Road. The Roads of the route:
When you arrive you will have driven on part of a 7.3 mile route which has been designated as Wisconsin Rustic Road number 86. This route includes portions of Waterville Road, Town Road G, County ZZ, Strawberry and Piper Roads and runs from US 18 to WIS 59.Fluff:
WRR 86 provides nice views of the Kettle Moraine State forest as well as sections of open prairie as it rises and falls over this picturesque landscape. Take your time and enjoy the drive or park your car and bike or hike one of the trails which intersect the road.Highlights:
• The Ice Age Trail here features a (very) small glimpse of exposed Niagara Escarpment as it makes its way from Wisconsin to the mighty falls which shares the escarpments name.
• The Scuppernong Hiking Trail has many routes and wanders through a heavily wooded forest with a mix of mostly gentle grades and rolling hills.
• The Glacial Drumlin Bike Trail crosses this route on its 52 mile journey from Waukesha to Cottage Grove. A trail pass must be obtained to bike this path (hiking is free). -
