I’ll do RR 108 & 95. There is one on 108. I’ll talk to the CO’s about it and put out a new one on both.
05/27/2010 at 1:30 pm #1929062Lots of activity in the last 24 hours. Thanks everyone! Here’s the updated map…

A total of 48 roads are complete… AND…
Only 27 roads left to be adopted!05/27/2010 at 1:32 pm #1929063@Team Black-Cat wrote:
Being graphicly minded, have you tought about creating a picture to post on all of the cache pages?
That’s an interesting idea. Hadn’t thought of an optional “seal” or something for each page. Have to see what I can pull together. Thanks for the idea and the link on the bookmark page.
05/27/2010 at 1:38 pm #1929064Oooooooo… If we can get our act together on #21 and #49, we’ll have a blackout in our area.
Tried on #49 yesterday, but on a 10-mile road, we wanted to pick out a good spot, and after I got attacked by the berry bushes and the giant poison ivy, we cut short our mission. Round 2 coming up there.

100 feet from the road and public property can make it a bit of a challenge…luckily I have a state park on my road…still I too ran into poison ivy which limited placement. I plan to relocate the cache again this winter when I have some more time (and no ticks) to hunt the perfect spot…at the moment it’s a micro in the woods…oh how I disappoint myself some days.

Cheezehead, 108 is long enough that you shouldn’t have to consult with the CO. Just drive down it a bit and find one of your “purdy” spots to place a non-typical HCH cache. Like make it within 100 feet of the road and accessible. And findable. And on a part of the road that people can get to.
For others with an eligible WRR near them, go check it out. It can be a very simple cache to place, and you’ll discover a bit of Wisconsin while you’re out there. Should be pretty easy maintenance if you do it right, too.

The berries and PI were when we were checking out a multi on the road to see where the final was to avoid proximity. But you’re right about the roadside. Lots of poison ivy there, too, and also garlic mustard. No problem with that and a cache, but people would be spreading the seeds elsewhere if they walked through a bunch. And the long grasses at the edge of the road will make geotrails inevitable in spots.

Pat, I know 108 very well. It my old hunting grounds our hunting shack was the Old “Dynamite Shack” they mention on the page. There is room for a whole series on that road. I’ve know that for a looooong time. 😉

Is that hint??????? 😯 😈
So include a bit of your own experience with 108 on the cache page. That would make it interesting. I just “lifted” the format from BakRdz and threw in a few of our observations from our trips yesterday. Took some photos, too. Just be tasteful if you use any graphics on the cache page! 🙄

Actually, after a little reconsidering and cache movement, the name is now “WRR 12-Back Road”.
