I sent an e-mail to owners of WSQs today:
OK, this is a plea for some standarization.
The WSQ caches have a wide variety of naming conventions, in connection
with punctuation.
WSQ Name
WSQ Name
WSQ – Name
WSQ-Name
WSQ: Name
WSQ:Name
WSQ_Name
GSAK will handle all these variation, and place them all in
alphabetical order, but CacheMate does not. It orders them with consideration to
the punction. That makes it hard some times to find the cache you
want, because it’s punctuation style is unknown.
So …. a suggestion for standarization:
WSQ Name (a single space between them).
BTW, as of today, the WSQ bookmark has 358 caches on it. The Non WSQ
list has around 250. Both of them are growing.
If you see a cemetery cache I do not have on a bookmark, I would
appreciate hearing from you. And it can be in any number of the surrounding
states, since I maintain bookmarks for them as well. You can find
these bookmarks on the WGA site, under the Bookmark listing.
Thanks for your consideration……
I have gotten about a dozen replies so far on this issue.
I want to thank everyone for their cooperation.
I made the requested changes to ours. I also am pulling together a list of ones that aren’t on your radar and will get those to you in a day or two.
As requested, I have changed my WSQ caches and deleted the colon. I hope this all helps with the bookmark listings.
Thank you Marc for organizing this reorganization of WSQ’s.
Changes have been made to our caches (didn’t realize how many we had).
Thanks for taking this on, Marc!
