Wisconsin Geocaching Association will be on “The Morning Blend” this Tuesday. Show runs from 10AM – 11AM, channel 4, Milwaukee.
See if you recognize any of our members in the photos appearing in the story.
11/01/2006 at 2:52 am #1766572Saw this post last night in time to set the DVR for the show. Great job Brian. Love the pictures also! Great press for the WGA.
11/01/2006 at 3:35 am #1766573Thanks. Only had a couple hours notice to appear on the show. We were able to get some of my digital photos on the segment. The photos are of some of my most memorable outings with fellow members.
Some of our members appearing include:
Trudy & The Beast
Geoff and Sarah
Jeremy, Ken, Sam (Yawningdog)11/01/2006 at 4:20 am #1766574I wasn’t able to see it. Any chance of uploading the video to YouTube or some other place so we can see?
11/01/2006 at 4:55 pm #1766575I recorded it … sorry VHS.
You did a great job Brian and it gave good promotional to geocaching and WGA. But the people interviewing you seem to be kinda odd in their ways of asking stuff … mainly that they’d asking you something and not give you time to answer … just how much coffee do they drink on that show?11/01/2006 at 5:09 pm #1766576Yes, the questioning is not real structured, but it’s a live talk show. You never know which direction the conversation is going to turn.
I was about to upload it on “youtube”, however, it looks like it would be a copywrite infringement.
I just noticed they now have the video uploaded to their website. Here is the link: http://www.themorningblend.com/NewsArticle/tabid/1474/xmid/5863/Default.aspx
Click on the video frame, then wait a few seconds for the “play” button to appear. I’m not sure how long this link will work.
They got some nice plugs in for the WGA.
11/01/2006 at 10:44 pm #1766577I thought it was humerous how they visually focused on the Compass for so long … I think it got more air time than the GPSr.
11/01/2006 at 11:14 pm #1766578I especially liked the little toy car and the buttons.
Brian, you did a good job representing the sport.
11/01/2006 at 11:55 pm #1766579That’s funny!
The hosts didn’t have any opportunity to check out the props before we went live. The “buttons” were Geocoins, and the “toys” were Jeep travel bugs.
Oh well, we all know better, but the general public wouldn’t notice these things 🙂
11/02/2006 at 1:00 am #1766580Great job Brain. You represented the WGA and it’s members very well.
11/02/2006 at 4:04 am #1766581Great job Brian. Watch for an influx of new members now. Will have to upgrade the server very soon.
Where can I get a white toy car and some buttons?? 😆11/02/2006 at 1:48 pm #1766582Way to go, Brian! It looked like you had your caffeine before the show so you could match the hosts’ energy level. 😀 🙂 😆 🙂 😀 (Amusing how one of them asked you three different questions in one sentence.) 🙂 🙂 😀
11/02/2006 at 3:29 pm #1766583That was awesome……you did an EXCELLENT job and you didn’t look one bit nervous 😉 I guess it just comes naturally! Always nice to see some different faces in the news and on TV!!
I do a lot of geocaching teaching and talks, in front of people and video cameras, & does get a little easier, but then again it’s not for TV!! You are a lot more brave than me!! Your presentation was GREAT…hope you get more chances like that!! A fine representation of not only the WGA but Geocaching itself!!
{{{{standing ovation}}}
11/05/2006 at 2:16 pm #1766584Just saw the video. You did a great job Brian and didn’t look one bit nervous. I noticed that one of the hosts (Molly Fay) mentioned that her husband has taken their kids out geocaching. Any idea on what their gc.com handle is?
11/05/2006 at 3:29 pm #1766585No, I don’t know what her family’s handle is. It would have been fun to find that out. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a chance to discuss things before, or after the segment.
