your #2 caching state

I would assume that most people visiting these forums would have found most of their caches in Wisconsin, unless they recently moved here and were well into their caching careers. However, if you have cached outside of Wisconsin, which state ranks #2 on your list of finds in it?

Ours is Illinois because we are both from there and we go back on occasion to visit family and friends there.

Indiana would be my #2. Wife’s sister lives near Indianapolis and we usually go down for Easter.
Family visits, I geocache.

That would be my homestate – Michigan. I have the most finds in WI.

Go figure.

Edit: I’m sure I’m not the only border resident who has more finds in the other border state than his own state.

My second state is Wyoming thanks to trips to Yellowstone two summers in a row. Plus, it’s a long drive through the state on our way to my home town in Colorado.

That would be the flatlander paradise of Illinois. When we cache around home, we end up in Illinois about every 10th time.

Arizona is #2 for me. it’s where I started caching, and I have over 500 finds there.

Missouri. I have relatives there and cache a little when I visit.

Illinois is #2 for me also but I have found caches in more counties in Illinois than Wisconsin, 26 vs 7.

New Mexico for me. That is only because of a power trail that I did with a co-worker while on training. Otherwise it would have been Nevada.

For our team it would be Utah #2, followed by Nevada, then Wyoming with Florida being a close 5th.

(And we didn’t mind getting a souvenir either.)

Michigan for us. Even though MI is our neighbor, it took a few years to get our first cache there. Did two 200+ cache powertrails, got our first MI cache and found the first two caches hidden in MI all in a weekend. Is there a souvenir for that? 🙄 😉

Illinois 22 One overnight stay for my niece’s wedding
Michigan 7 Spent a week there, but had no vehicle and little free time
Indiana 1 Stopped for lunch passing through on our way home from MI

Nevada is #2 with 80 finds there from two trips. My sister has a place there just outside of Las Vegas.
