Well, you might guess from our team name that we (Mr. and Mrs.) like to run. I (Mr.) in particular. I’ve run a bunch of marathons. I’ve completed triathlons. I’ve done the Door County Fall 50–a 50 mile run from Gills Rock to Sturgeon Bay–solo, three times. Point being, I like to think that I can take on a tough terrain challenge.

Well, imagine my surprise to see a log from zoesbrother on GCXHN8 and GCXHNH today. Now, this was a set of caches that I was convinced couldn’t be accomplished on foot (without ice on the Bay). 3.5 miles out, 3.5 miles back with lots of swamp and water. I tried it, twice, and made it a mile in about an hour before the water spilled over my hip waders and decided no way, no how, could you walk out to this one. Nope, simply couldn’t be done.

    😯

Looks like I got schooled! Congrats, ZB…

    Nice job, Zoesbro.

Hope to run into you on the trails someday.

Well, I had a little inside info that he was going to try again and this time he was successful. Another 4-mile trek to the end of Long Tail point for zoesbrother, and of course a four-mile return. And I would estimate about half of that trek is done through a combination of waist-deep water and 8-foot-tall swamp grass.

    GCXHNH

After doing these caches–TWICE–by foot, the pair of SSSS caches should be a cakewalk! I vote to award honorary LCG credits for this one.

This cache and the others had zoesbrother’s name written all over them. The only thing missing was the bike ride, unless he rode that to the water’s edge. 😉

Congratulations on the successful journey, ZB!
