Change of plans. Due to an out of state family medical emergency, Mama Hawk and Little Hawk will be heading out of town on Friday before I get home from work. Therefore, I will be spending Thursday evening with the family. Have fun!! I’ll just have to catch the next pizza and caching outing.

Never mind. The company responded and provided a link to obtain my activation code. They forgot to provide the instruction sheet with the shipment.
I was always told a USPS mail box is Government property and tampering with a mail box is a federal offense. Any use of the mailbox for any purpose other than mailing a letter or package is tampering.
I grew up in Onalaska and I now live in Milwaukee. If this had been posted on GC.com., I might have been able to adjust my schedule to participate. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to because of poor execution on the organizers part.
You can tell the organizers are not seasoned cachers because of their use off the term “nano-cache.” There is no such official recognition of the term “nano.” You’ve got micro, small, regular, and large. That’s it. No tiny, mini, nano, pico, or eetsy weetsy.
It must just be my work computer.
At this time, the maps don’t seem to working at all. Anyone else seeing this?
It looks like Bricks has become a real milestone destination cache.
Done them, but I’ll still be there. Pizza, beer, and good people are reasons enough to show up and I’m sure someone will be willing to grab a few other caches after the pizza.

I think I remember you mentioning something about that when you dropped me a line once. maybe I’ll just wait until the new cache posts this time. It would look rather odd for me to find the cache before it posts. 😉 Not that I haven’t done it before. I’ve stumbled across at least 5 un-posted caches while hunting for other caches (darn puzzles) or scouting sections of woods and I’ve resorted to “letter-boxing” my way to a few puzzle cache finals based on cache descriptions and logs. Did I mention how frustrating puzzle caches can be to me due to my limited intellect.

I don’t think Letterbox hybrids ever went out of play.
When I said “out of play,” I only meant that they have not been a placement option since I started caching in June of 2006. I thought they were a “Grandfathered” type, like virtual caches.
I have not seen a single Letterbox Hybrid in Milwaukee, Kenosha, or Racine county since I started. Are you telling me that this has always been a placement option but nobody in these three counties has placed this type in a year and a half?
I see Digital Dan already has a brand new Letterbox Hybrid in the game. He must be on some super secret mailing list because I never heard anything about this new development.
Do I need to edit my “auto cache notification” so I get informed of these new placements? Digital Dan’s is less than 20 miles from my home but I did not receive any notification of his placement even though it is within my 25 mile window.
The disease only gets worse after you’ve reached find #1,000. I’m sad to inform you that your condition is quite chronic and is most likely terminal.
Congratulations!!!

Couldn’t you ask the person you submitted the form to? Seems like a long time…I’d be impatient too. 🙂
The e-mail they supply goes to someone who just forwards it to the Land Manager – I don’t know who that person is. I suppose I could just release it, since by the time people solve it (yeah, it’s a Mystery Cache), I’ll have the approval. Besides, there was a cache there before this one (oops, I said too much!).
I think I just heard 3 Hawks run out of the house looking for it. 😆
Solving puzzles, coords, cache descriptions……who needs ’em. Now I just have to figure out the identity of the archived cache of which you speak or I could just go to sleep and let Hugh Foundit have it. Hmmm?
