I’m going to try to make it, but go ahead start without me if I’m not there.

In short, the policy is still a draft
Thanks for your work in this area and the detailed reply. How approvers handling new caches? If it’s still a draft policy, it sounds like they will be approved without going through application process to receive written permision?

I received the signed form in the mail yesterday, so took about a month for approval.
Any new news on the policy? Are negotiations still ongoing?
You can also press Alt+PrintScrn to capture just the current window instead of the entire desktop which is what you get if you press PrintScrn by itself.
Hi,
First I assume you are talking about the stats program I wrote (CacheStats from LogicWeave). If so, hard to say exactly what might be going wrong from your description, but here is the list of steps that you need to follow to update your statistics:
1) Click on the “add to queue” button to generate a new my finds pocket query
2) When you receive the email for the my finds pocket query, extract the gpx file from the zipped attachment. Preferably, give it the same name and save it in the same folder on your hard drive as the first time. If you do this, then CacheStats will automatically load it the next time you start. You will know that you saved it to the same location if it asks you “are you sure you want to overwrite” when you extract the files.
3) If you extracted to a different folder you can do a few things: click on the “open gpx file” button within CacheStats, and open the new one. Or try extracting from your email again to overwrite the original. Or use Windows explorer to copy the file from the new folder and paste to the original folder.Hope this helps, but if not let me know.

Just noticed a thread in the groundspeak.com forums concerning liability. This link was posted showing statutes for each state for recreational use of property:
http://tarlton.law.utexas.edu/dawson/recreate/wi_rec.htmAs I read through, my eyes glazed over and my head hit the keyboard when I fell asleep due to excessive legaleze, but I did read far enough to notice this in section 2b:
Except as provided in subs. (3) to (6), no owner and no officer, employee or agent of an owner is liable for the death of, any injury to, or any death or injury caused by, a person engaging in a recreational activity on the owner’s property
Owner, in this case, includes a governmental body. I have no idea if this pertains to this situation, but seems pretty clear to me at least that liability is not a valid reason to disallow geocaching. Any lawyers out there care to offer an opinion on wheter this would prevent someone from suing for an injury caused while geocaching?
Sounds nasty. I think I need to stop caching in shorts (I mean start caching in long pants). It’s interesting that even though it seems to be present in most of the nation, the top 3 websites returned when searching for wild parsnip in Google are Wisconsin sites, and the fourth is Minnesota.
I thought the DNR education for kids site was good:

http://images.google.com/images?q=Pastinaca%20sativaI had the same thing happen to a GPS receiver that I plugged in to my PocketPC CF slot – all of a sudden stopped receiving for no apparent reason. Out of warranty so I didn’t fix or replace. Did you try shaking, slapping and or kicking it? 😉
When I saw the info on their website, I figured the policy was finalized so I filled out a couple forms and sent them in. I’ll let you know if I get a reply.
Yeah, it’s different for me now too. I was getting thumbnail images below the log this morning, now I only get the image title. Could be they won’t load the thumbnail image when the server load is heavier? Just a guess.

WOW! Have you seen all the new cool stuff they did with the cache pages??? 😛 😈
I see a breakdown of logs by type (nice) and images are shown as thumbnails underneath the log. That’s all I can find, am I missing some features?
Muggle is the term taken from Harry Potter. When I first started 3 years ago, geomuggle was used a lot, but I don’t see that much anymore.
Also, if you only bring up the hint if needed at the cache site, how do you define “if needed”? After 5 minutes of searching? After an extensive search? Very quickly if it’s a “target rich” area?
The weather’s great, and the days are getting longer so I’ll get this topic rolling again. I’d be interested attending depending on location. Maybe we could take turns “hosting” so we get to different areas and lessen the planning by any one person.
Depends a little on amount of time required, but I’m interested.
