Ah, yes! Thanks for sharing your wonderful blog entry! I have Murphy blood as well, my namesake, my grandmother and also live in an old home – 1918, along the Apple River. Have been trying to get old pictures and information from neighbors – but no gravestones or, alas, ghosts to watch over us – yet!
PS. I love your Trekkin’ and Birdin’ graphic!
I am so new to this, that this is the first time I have even considered the topic. I did see that some of the caches I’d researched to search for are in cemetaries and I thought that was cool. I love cemetaries and often go to them just to walk around and explore – I always feel welcomed there by the ‘residents.’ I think most of the rules make sense, especially the ones that apply to behavior while you are physically in the cemetary. I don’t see anything wrong with taking pictures in a cemetary, or going there at night (unless closed, and I guess we could ‘t encourage that.)
(I agree that the cemetary is a really bad place to take a group of 7th graders geocaching. Not any fault of the 12 -13 year olds because they are just being their age and developmental level out there, but possibly setting them, the teachers and the schools up for some negative PR.)
