I would be more likely to ask someone to take the picture for practical reasons rather than a reason to initiate a conversation about being in the same place at that time. If someone else needed the photo taken and then a conversation ensued, that would be fine. Like sandlanders, I would plead ignorance with the camera or phone and have to be shown exactly how to use it correctly. Before selfies were what they are, I was with my nephew and wanted a photo and there was no one to take it, so I held my camera in the right spot and got a “selfie” that is actually one of my favorite pictures of us. Maybe it is because I am not of the generation where it became popular, but I don’t get the obsession of it all. I’m no great photographer either, but I do understand photography concepts well enough to know I wouldn’t likely get a good photo from a selfie. I think people have an innate need to connect and anyone in a selfie phase will likely see it pass.
Five cars stuck on my block. The paradox: at least one will have to move in order for the plow to get through, and how do any of the cars move if the plow doesn’t get through? I just checked now, and the pickup that comes to plow our lot, is now stuck between two of the cars in the street.
It looks like I am walking to work today. 😡
Happy birthday ladies! Go crazy and have some purple frosting this year!
Thanks to our new webmaster Melissa
Ditto the thanks! Is Melissa a cacher we know or maybe haven’t met yet? Or an IT person hired for the WGA? Perhaps most importantly, do we still refer to our webmaster as The Squirrel?
Is there supposed to be something fun to do with today’s Google doodle? I can’t get it to do anything, but it looks neat.
I wondered that too. I didn’t have time to really look earlier, but now I did, and I found this
It is several options down after just clicking the doodle itself.
And to think, I knew you when…
When I first started caching, that is! You were one of the first teams I met and have helped mentor me along the way. Congratulations on your 10K milestone! 🙂
Easy as 1-2-3 (thousand)! Way to go everyone 😎
Noonan, looks like a nice house you may buy. Could you consider renting out the stables and outbuildings to locals if that kind of thing is in such demand? Also, maybe your daughter could help out with the horse care as a part time job, and see what it is all about.
I see my status has been demoted from Moderator to Participant.
Once last week, when looking at the Users Online page, it had me listed as a moderator. When I checked again, it said Archive. I guess I am out of date 😕
Right now a Google bot is searching sandlanders profile. Perhaps it’s trying to unearth some hidden secrets even Thread Stealers don’t know.
Shopping mostly done. Just a couple gift cards to buy for places I wasn’t nearby today.
Spending the weekend in Neenah. Do I know how to have fun or what?
Spending the week in Neenah is also fun! If you don’t believe me, just ask the Prez.
A rare reasonable-hour morning post from me–I have the day off and should be using the time productively to finish Christmas prep. I may accomplish something today.
Thanks for the Google doodle tip…it is harder to do with no sound, but I got them within the second try. Fun!
5000, wow! Many great caches = many smileys!
Thanks, CTQ, for the tip about the TV show…I really enjoyed it!
