Thanks again for the car tips. When I went in, the same guy who did the oil change came out and said it is likely he forgot to reset it, although he said sometimes with older cars, the reset doesn’t always take. He showed me how to reset it; it is a box under the hood with a screw cap, and I turn the engine on but not start the car, then push the correct button in the box. The box actually has the instructions on it.
Thanks for the advice on the car and the camera. I called the mechanic and was told that indeed there is a counter and it is their fault for not resetting it. I can stop by anytime and they will do it. The camera, well, that will take some more research. Both are not the kind of problems to have on the horizon of a vacation.
Still waiting on the wet weather here…we have had nothing when it seems everyone else is getting it this past week.
Can the thread stealers possibly offer suggestions for me again? Two issues, camera and car.
Camera–Same day and time, I take one photo and it is fine, then the next few are blurry. I get the message Lens Error and it struggles to retract the lens and shut off. Sometimes it doesn’t open. The camera is a Nikon Coolpix S3000 if that is helpful. The manual doesn’t have any info on a lens error message.
Car–I had an oil change a month ago and have driven about 1000 miles and now my change oil soon light is coming on. Could this be something simple like a sensor or something catastrophic like I don’t even want to imagine?
Don’t worry, I won’t hold you to your advice. I plan to seek out the pros if it is not an easy fix. Thanks, all!
Wow, 43 miles on almost-new knees! I don’t think I could bike that far…ever. What a way to spend the day! Good for them!
Just exactly how long have you been waiting to do that, SL?
By my calculations, 5547 posts!
Congratulations! How satisfying it must be to complete such a challenge. Way to stick with it!
Way to go! State Parks are great for milestone caches!
Awesome milestone! And a lot of great caching stories to go along with all those finds, I’ll bet. Congrats!
No paddling for me 🙁 It was postponed yesterday due to the threat of lightning later in the day, which never materialized, but no way to know that then. Late last night I got a message saying that the two big groups that were filling the voyageur canoe couldn’t do the rescheduled date. That left just two of us for such a big canoe that they had to cancel (just the voyageur, not the whole event). They should be passing my place soon. I will have to look out my window longingly, and hope things work out for next year.
Thanks for the advice! I suppose you might see me on TV but there are supposed to be hundreds of kayaks and canoes. I will be in a voyageur canoe, so a bigger one, not sure how many in it. Hopefully if you see me, I will be in a canoe and not in the water!
Neenah/Menasha/Appleton (Fox River/Winnebago)–Park to Park Paddle
Any advice from expert paddlers out there? I am going canoeing for the first time and so far I have been told “Sunscreen” and “Hat”. Those are kind of givens for me. I meant advice specific to the water sport. It is a four-hour paddle. I suspect I will be sore later. Best clothes to wear? Important things not to forget?
I’m happy I got to be a part of caching up to that point and being at the big event. 5000, wow, it seems so far away for me. Lots of stories to go with lots of caches! Congrats! 🙂
Thread Stealers got buried 6 deep again…this is hard work keeping up on all the drivel. I don’t know how y’all do it on a regular basis!
Not me. I am usually just lurking, but I will help move things along a little.
