Congratulations! Looks like one I would really enjoy doing. I am glad it was fun and memorable for all!
Looks like fun! Keep enjoying all our planet has to offer!
I think it sounds like you had quite a journey to finding this one, very milestone-worthy! Keep reaching for the stars!
Whoops, just buried it again with my own comments. Bringing it back to the top!
Very nice! Congrats on the milestone 🙂
Bump. Doing my part, since Thread Stealers got buried again! Actually, it is nice to see other forums and threads seeing activity too!
Birdin’, did you ever see the movie A Birder’s Guide to Everything? It is a group of teen birdwatchers and their search for a rare bird. There are more serious undertones to some subplots, but the movie is entertaining and light, primarily. It is a 2014 movie. I happened upon it at the library. In the bonus section, there is a very interesting tutorial on how birders use something (a spectrogram?) to visually write a bird’s call.
Welcome to the WGA! You seem to be enjoying the caching experience, integrating your current outdoor hobbies with it. Keep checking in here with questions or ideas. Have fun!
I want to go back to Marinette County to tour the waterfalls there. I had gone on a bus trip that focused on that county’s waterfall attractions (and even managed to find a cache or two without holding up the tour). Combining caching and visiting the falls is a nice idea for a trip…I think I may have to plan that! Thanks for the idea!
Congratulations to both teams! Lots of travels, experiences, stories, and smileys 🙂
This is not exactly a place to eat, although there is food there–Winemaker’s Daughter in Manawa. It is a wine tasting place with appetizers. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. The atmosphere is warm and inviting with plenty of conversation sections defined. The decor makes the best use of the natural building. Even the restroom is charming! http://www.winemakersdaughter.com/
Thanks for the ideas of how to pass the time in Manawa yesterday. We ended up winetasting at Winemaker’s Daughter. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with kind staff. We didn’t do any official birdwatching, but we did see a hawk. The music festival would have been a little too rustic for our mode of dress. I later found out the Wisconsin Powered Parachute Association had an event very close to the reception. That would have been my choice to go, but others I was with…not so much. Of course, we would have been overdressed for that as well.
Hello threadstealers! Sorry for the short notice, but looking for suggestions for tomorrow. There is a wedding near Manawa, and then a three hour gap until the dinner. What is there to do? Local websites tout snowmobiling and fishing, neither of which are happening for different reasons. Geocaching is not an option. I am the most outdoorsy of all going, and that is not saying much. We will be dressed nicely anyway. Movie times don’t coincide with the open time. It is too far to drive home and come back. The area is pretty rural. Ideas on how to pass the time?
permethrin is toxic to cats.
I don’t suppose we’d be so lucky that it would be toxic to the mice!
I use the Repel, Permanone, I think is how it is spelled. I can’t be the highest endorsement since I don’t typically cache in high-tick areas or at the time of year they are the worst. But anytime I have worn it, no ticks. Once one tried to crawl on my jeans but it didn’t get too far. I wash treated clothes with the rest of my laundry. I have never seen the Cedarcide. A check of their website shows a retailer in my area (Neenah), but it is a pet place; not sure if they have a human version of the product.
