I also received that message. Kinda creepy. Strange way to make friends…or is it make strange friends? 😉
If you are bringing kids, I believe they have an area nearby (they used to have it only during training camp called the Packer Experience), but now I think it is a scaled down version featuring inflatables like an obstacle course, kicking area, Lambeau leap, try on players shoes, get eye-black, etc. Good for children ages 5 and up, I think. Anyone confirm if it is still operating?
That was some trip! Congrats to all of you 🙂 Now you have to make it an annual event in a new area each year, and try to beat your total. 😛
There is no escape…
You will see things differently now. Stumps, guardrails, rock piles–“That looks like a good place for a cache.”
You’ll plan a vacation, and see if there are geocaches nearby.
You’ll plan a geocaching vacation.
Your children will ask for GPSrs for Christmas gifts.
You may find yourself torn between “It’s all about the numbers.” and “It’s all about the experience.” and try to find the best of both.
You’ll meet people in person and virtually who are hooked on it too.
Welcome!
I was able to submit logs, but when I tried to e-mail another player, I got an internal error message. I tried a couple of times.
I echo the recommendation for the Amazing Geo-Race series. We were at about 7 hours until the final (which is NOT at the dam, please avoid my pitfalls!). It isn’t romantic, but more of an adventure like the TV series. It would be fun to do in competition or in conjunction with other teams too. But the area is pretty so I am sure there are caches in the area that can provide the scenic element too.
Welcome! It is nice to hear your family enjoys geocaching together. Educational, travel, spending time together…looks like you found a winner of a hobby! Have fun!
Today I went to the library and opened up WGA site using both IE and Mozilla Firefox. I had no problems viewing from either browser. I suspect it is just my computer, or its user 😆
I checked my screen resolution. It is 800 x 600. I changed it to the next size, I believe it was 1024 x 768. That made everything smaller. Too small, so I went back to the 800/600.
IE is what came with the computer. Where does one get another browser? Is that something you download or software you purchase, or something else?
And actually, I think it is just a Halloween ghost, because my e-mail webpage suddenly got smaller print just today. 😕 I thought maybe I was accidentally clicking on something, but in order to restore it I had to go a through a number of steps, including Confirm Page Changes, so I don’t think I just hit the mouse over the wrong place. No one else uses this computer.
I can see the Burger King photo just fine, and always could. Today some of the pages are fine, but others are wide. Since the problem came up on its own, I as a low-tech person, am hopeful it will correct itself! And I really am grateful it is not a serious issue anyway.
I am using Internet Explorer. My magnification has not changed; it is still 100%. I did the Ctrl/scroll thing, and it worked to make it fit the screen, but it made everything smaller. My magnification was at 100% when it fit, so that doesn’t seem to be the issue. Your suggestions worked, just didn’t do what I need it to.
It is a very minor thing, having to scroll left and right. Just a little annoyance I was hoping was easy to fix. But not a crisis if I can’t. Thanks just the same! 🙂
I start at sunrise, whatever time that may be. Fewer muggles, less traffic, and it gets me out of bed when I may be tempted to sleep late. Most days I am not able to devote a whole lot of time to caching, so I plan say 10-15 to attempt. When that is done, found or DNF, I am done. Then come chores or other obligations. If I have a day that is full, caching is saved for another day.
I voted for the high end, but agree that I would have voted higher if that were an option. It depends on the cache for me, but I always take into account my limited caching experience, my low-end GPSr, how much time I have, and previous logs. When my GZ takes me to an open grass patch, I will try to search a nearby area, but often I give up if it is not more accurate. I don’t blame the hider. I always figure it is me, because it always has been. If I ever find a cache that is that far off the posted coordinates, I will say how far off my reading was, but only as a point of reference. If future finders also experience this, then the owner can take our mulitple logs into consideration.
10/23/2009 at 11:56 pm in reply to: If you could create your ultimate cache, what would it be? #1915669I think it would be cool to cache in space. We could have caches on the moon, and eventually a multi-cache from planet to planet.
You said no restrictions…I assumed that meant gravity as well. 🙂
I have put blank pieces of paper in caches with full logs. But if the log is damp, that is kind of useless; it just makes for another damp log. I don’t know where you get the “official” logs, so that is why I just put in paper. And while I am responding, I don’t know where to get the really small plastic bags…craft stores?
In my log, I will note the need for a new log, or if I put paper in, or if the log is nearing capacity. I will note if it is damp. I did a NM log once for this, but then read the forums that most owners think NM logs are overused for small things that cachers could bring, such as a log or a bag, so I don’t post NM logs for that anymore. I would not replace a container unless asked.

I bought my first annual state park sticker this year and plan to continue each year from now on. I know I wouldn’t without geocaching.
Ditto.
