Sorry, also not a peeps fan. Chocolate tops marshmallow any holiday.
Thanks! Wow, that is a detailed schedule. I am glad I asked. I found the reply link as well. Gracias.
I voted no, which isn’t completely true, I later figured. I have seen the bookmark list of the Lonely Caches. Since reading this thread, I clicked on Bookmark Lists to see what they are all about. My geocaching is rather haphazard and often only once a week, but maybe the lists can give me a more focused adventure. Thanks for pointing out this feature!

gotta be GCRW51 Something Technical About It
this one certainly comes to mind when reading Amita17’s last post!
Well, if that’s not it, it is another just like it! Yes, that is a 50 page puzzle I wouldn’t print but would try to solve on screen. I will reread your PM suggestions about the solve.
Thank you 😀
Didn’t I just congratulate on a milestone? Well, you deserve kudos for keeping up the fast pace! Way to go, JimandLinda!

I’m quoting amita17’s post – what cache is she referring to!
I can’t find it. I remember it was WAY too many pages to print, so I just printed the binary code chart I got from a website, and was translating it from the monitor.
It had to be in the Fox Valley. And it may have been on the Jan/Feb. Lonely cache list. The word binary is not in the cache name, but I am thinking it had base or zero or one in the name. I will no doubt stumble across it again.
To refer to a previous thread on how organized am I in my geocaching–not very. I have papers all over, notebooks, folders… if I find it, I will ask you if you have another suggestion for a solve.
OR, is it one of yours, and you know this? 😈 🙂
Piggybacking on your request for help. I am also trying to solve a different binary puzzle (don’t have the GC number handy).
Am I going to have to sit with one of those binary charts and do this by hand? I never know where to start and end with these strings.
That is what I figured I would have to do, and it is a long process. If there is another way, please share. Thanks.
I got my introduction to geocaching at the YMCA of the Fox Cities. They have a class offered periodically. I believe it is even called Intro to Geocaching. Shane Vondracek, the naturalist there, geocaches (or did a few years ago) and also teaches the class. Anyone of any age could take it. There were only two of us in my class, but I think they would prefer to have 6 in order to run it. I took it in the summer. They don’t have their summer program book yet, and it is not a class offered this spring. Shane’s direct number is 920-954-7643. His e-mail is [email protected] I don’t know his geocaching handle. There is a fee for the class, but I don’t remember the cost. I think he would consider a private class for a group, but there would be a cost for that too. Hope this helps.
It looks to me like an ice scraper for the car windshield, with ice formed around it. You’d need another one to scrape that one 🙂
Wow, 1300! That’s great! Thanks for your expertise along the way, and keep on cachin’. 🙂
I was absent yesterday, but I am here today! 🙂
I’ve never been to a CITO event, so I am hesitant to suggest a park. But given that you have done this before, maybe this idea makes sense: If you have a relatively large turnout, choose a big park, like Memorial or Pierce/Alicia/Lutz. If it is likely to be more mid-size, something like Erb, and if the groups tend to be small, there a few neighborhood parks…
Are CITOs held in conjunction with other events, like flash mob or finding caches, that you need lots of parking or to be near permanent caches? Depending on the date you choose, you would have to be aware if the city has any events that take place in parks or near them (like art fairs, 5Ks, music festivals…).
Sorry I have more questions than suggestions!
Congratulations Gail and John! Now that I know who you are, there is no hiding from me…except for your caches, of course. Keep going strong!

I think that there are a lot of cachers like yourself that enjoy the game, but are not using the technology to greatest benefit. It is for this reason that I am trying to develop a Membership Committee to develop, plan and hold “Geocaching 201” classes around the state. The basic idea would be to provide hands on help with the items you mention, and learn some of the tricks of the trade that makes caching so enjoyable for those who do it a lot.
The advice you will get here in the forum will no doubt be helpful, but in my mind, there is no substitute for hands on learning and practical application of skills. I think the game can be a lot more fun, once you learn how to do more than print out paper cache pages and hand enter coords, and I want the WGA to help folks like you to learn those skills hands on.
So, stay tuned for this.

I am staying tuned. I don’t use technology to its full extent, and would be grateful for a 201 class. I read all the forums, but it is Greek to me much of the time. Hands on, or at least a video, would be more helpful. Thanks for trying to get a plan in the works.
Glad to have you aboard. Have fun geocaching!
