FTP for Saturday. Wouldn’t you know, the weather for what would have been campout weekend is beautiful, at least the Friday and Saturday parts. Hopefully you all have the opportunity to get out and enjoy it!
Ditto the previous post. Anyone remember the snow on this day in 1990? I do. It even took a few days to melt in some places. I guess, much like this past year, we had snow early in ’89, then late in ’90. A spring slow to arrive, in more ways than one…
Did you forget the :ftp: or were you just putting it up for grabs?
Fell asleep at the Blue Switch. After accomplishing necessary tasks, I was uncharacteristically tired. My biggest accomplishment of the day was a nap. 😴 Now I am finishing what I should have earlier.
Thanks for sharing, Gwyn. Like you, I wonder how my little ones turn out. So far, I have only seen one report on the news of a bad outcome. I have seen and heard many accounts of them doing great things. I have even been employed along side them. Isn’t it comforting to know you had a role in it all, and especially in Michelle’s case, that she went into teaching? I don’t have much of a green thumb, but I plant a lot of seeds! 😊
The old barn is a comin’ down today.
Be safe doing that. Not sure how I got the idea you lived in the city now (Oshkosh). Anyway, it’s probably a good day for this kind of work.
Welcome (back), StfRon. There are many active geocachers in your part of the state. Perhaps you’ll meet some more Wisconsin cachers when restrictions are lifted. Until then, there are lots of options for virtual interaction.
:ftp: for page 1181.
A friend just dropped off a bag of homemade face masks. More than I can use, and everyone I know has theirs. Maybe I can put some in those blessing boxes, the ones that look like little free libraries, but have items for the taking, typically nonperishable good and hygiene products.
FTP for Friday April 17th.
Good morning. Happy Easter!

(having some fun with emojis seeing if they all work here)
Edited: close enough 😆
Similar to hack1of2’s post above, I have mixed feelings. If everyone could follow common sense expectations that existed prior to the pandemic (those regarding littering, vandalism, misuse of facilities, etc), I would say keep them open. But since a few bad apples spoil it for everyone, I can see the reasoning for closures. It would be nice to keep the remaining parks open, but I fear it is only a matter of time before they are also closed.
I went out to do some essential shopping yesterday. Noticed very few people wearing masks.
Ditto.
Thanks Jim and Chris. Sad to hear about vandalism and disregard for rules. I guess it is nice that some parks are open but could close if that happens there too.
40 fewer places to go geocaching starting tomorrow.
How come not all of the state parks, does anyone know?
Getting in on the double double-digits page.
I am happy to have “normal’s pale cousin” during the week, since I can go to work as usual. Even though the weekdays are quite different than they used to be, I shouldn’t complain, since many have been forced to stay at home every day, perhaps with no income. Like being snowbound, I am using my shelter-at-home time to clean and organize, read, cook, and watch TV. Typically having a nice mix of productivity, relaxation, and idleness. Posting here meets all the criteria.
