Is your name on the list?
When I was new, I didn’t post DNFs because I was sure I was just not good enough to find them. It wasn’t until I mentioned this to more seasoned cachers that I was informed that you should post them regardless of your longevity in the sport. Now I post them all, unless I give it less than a 2 minute look, like if I am in a hurry or something about the site makes me uncomfortable or if I realize I need a tool of the trade, for example. In my DNF logs, I usually reference something about my search. I might say how long I looked. I might hint to the owner where I looked without really giving spoilers. I might just say something like the cache just escapes me today. I thank the owner for placing it, regardless. I may say if I plan to return. If many DNFs precede mine, I might ask the owner if he/she could verify it is still there, especially if I want to come back again.
Your puzzle is still on jigsaw planet.
FTP for the 23rd of September. Bonus points if you can tell me what’s special about this date.
Is it your birthday?
Have fun at the picnic! It’s marathon weekend in the Fox Cities. If you have occasion to be here in the next few days, look up road closures. In addition to the prevalent road construction, they will also be detouring traffic for the races.
FTP for September 17th. I’m substituting for BigJim (here, not in his class). Today is National Apple Dumpling Day. I’ve never eaten one, but I did see the gang in a movie when I was a child.
I think a lot of posts have disappeared, and we actually hit page 1000 back on June 4th, as I had predicted.
Does it seem to anyone else who had Labor Day off, but worked T-F, that short work weeks seem longer than regular ones? It is always this way for me. I think it is because Monday’s work still needs to get done on the other days.
When I check my Spam in my e-mail, there is never anything in it. Today I looked, and there was a message from an organization I always get messages from, and also…the WGA newsletter! I am not sure how to avoid this, other than clicking This is not Spam as an option, after the fact.
FTP for August 19th. I should have put shampoo in my hair before my run and saved some time. The fog dampened my hair so much it dripped!
Excellent. But between the terrain and the humidity, I got my butt kicked. Good thing I wasn’t all about the numbers.
It seems I will need a disguise. I was spotted while caching, from afar by some WGA members. Their vision is better than mine. I needed to get closer to see who was calling out to me.
And to illustrate the kindness of geocachers, a team I had joined on a trail, called to me from a distance after we went in different directions to separate caches. We had made a mistake in solving a puzzle and they wanted me to know so I didn’t wander VERY far off course. They could have just said Oh, Well. But instead, they tracked me down. I paid it forward at the next cache, helping a team that was confused.
LTP for page 950. Packing for the Ba$h right now!
There is always a story behind a story. Thanks, BigJim!
I watched the Packer Hall of Fame induction and saw Mark Tauscher is from Auburndale. Did (do) you know the family, BigJim? I know, not that you’d care too much, as a Bears fan. And yes, I realize you are not old enough to have been his teacher!
