Spent the weekend in the Northwoods playing the WGA LCG. Oh man–it was interesting. All I have to say is that Mr. Evil’s driving skills tested the limits of the Jeep and we are still alive, thankfully. We ended up in a quarry at the end of the logging trail. 1RAWEVILRIDE felt like a small Tonka truck in the midst of mountains of rocks and sand.

Oh, but what great stories you’ll have to tell for the LCG event! Did you take any photos that can be used in the slide show?

FTP for this last Monday in March.

Better news yet…even though the screw went in at an odd angle (which wouldn’t have been fixable, I would have needed a new tire), it was just a “flesh wound” and didn’t pierce the inside! No repair needed! No charge ☺

Got out of my car at home to discover a screw protruding from my tire. Luckily the shop was still open and said I could come in. Gotta find the silver lining, right?

Two new pet peeves–plastic price tag holders that are sewn into the garment and dropped calls in the middle of automated menus so you have no idea how much information has been received.  >:(

I guess if I had to spend all day in a work conference on some dry topics, at least I was with people whose company I enjoy and the sessions were better than I expected.  Lunch was good and the vendors and sponsors were phenomenal.  I have had worse days when I was supposed to be having fun.

Debby, Thanks for the book recommendation! I just finished “Death on the Prairie.” That was the only one they have at the library across the street, but it seems most of the rest are available at the main branch in La Crosse. I need to stay away and concentrate on my character research for now, though!

That was the first one I read too, then I went in order, which was helpful for me to keep the characters straight.  The author contacted me to let me know that #8 comes out in October and has a mining theme, and she just started writing #9 and will continue the series as long as they sell and she is able!  I must have missed it…what character research?

Birdin’, did you ever read any of the Chloe Ellefson series by Kathleen Ernst?  She is a Wisconsin writer who sets her stories in real places and uses real historical events but in a ficticious way.  I think you would enjoy them.  Chloe plays an instrument that I think you know rather well  😉  and the newest book uses Civil War reenactments as its theme.  And really, I would recommend the series to anyone, but I thought of Gwyn in particular.

That has happened to me before, when on a computer, not a phone, and I just figured it was a glitch, since I was always able to go out and in again and it would work.  Not sure why.

Happy birthday to both the TS thread and the Rat!  10 is a great number.  So is 50!

Welcome to the WGA!  I hope you will frequent this site for information, ideas, and interaction.  I know some of the board or other more well-versed members can speak to your ideas about the class and will check in soon.
