DCExplorer,
Regarding my Kangaroo Lake – Tie Me Kangaroo Down cache. You are correct it is in an SNA. However, in my defense, this park became an SNA in 2002, after I placed the cache.
I have now archived it and will remove it when I am up there in the very near future.
When you find instances like this, just email the cache owner to bring it to their attention so it can be corrected. If they fail to comply, then bring it to the attention of the WGA board.
You are correct regarding the cache(s) in Ellison Bay Bluff county park. However, this park only became an SNA in 2002, after my Cache in the Bluff cache was placed, and obviously the DNR didn’t let me know about it In any case, as I believe you know, my cache has been closed since Fall of last year. It is now permanently archived, and will not be restored due to the SNA. I can only assume Yawningdog would do the same, if you notify him. He may not accidentally stumble on this thread as I did.
Likewise, check again your position on Yawning Dog’s Europe Bay cache. The nearest SNA is .3 miles away to the cache’s south. This cache is not in an SNA.
I was the geocaching admin that approved Rock Island Woods – Keeper’s Cache by The Troops. Please recheck your information. This cache is not even close to being in an SNA. The nearest SNA is 0.4 miles to the caches south.
Likewise, Island Loop by Mike Ayers is not in an SNA.

Gee, what a perfect opportunity to get them to start using the WGA site
There is now a 6-way tie for September’s COTM. I’ve extended the poll until the board resolves the tie. Stay tuned for the winner!

No problem, the duplicate was removed
We have a 4 way tie right now! We need votes to break the tie!
Lionscub,
Just now saw your post. We’d be happy to take you on a trial hunt, we even have spare gpsrs for you to use. There is a cache here in Elkhorn we have not done yet, plus plenty of other nearby caches.

rpaske is correct. For the safety of the users of the site, we don’t allow visitors to add in their own hyperlinks (you never know where one might lead )
I just now updated the COTM page, so you can visit any of the current three nominess just by clicking on their name.
To those that make up the rank and file of the WGA, and to our board, I want to thankyou for making this site such a friendly place.
A couple of years ago, I used to be right on the heels of Markwell on prolific posting to the geocachng.com threads. I was in the top 5 posters as I recall. A number of times, I took part in the mighty flame wars that sparked off so easily. The mightyest I believe was the war when Charter Memberships were enacted. I eventually grew disenhearted on those forums, and when Jeremy put the new forums up, basically wiping the slate clean, I backed away from them.
I’m posting this here because I learned of this excellent Wisconsin State Journal article upon a recent pass through the geocaching.com forums to see what was new. In that pass, I saw a reference to the article, but the thread it was in demonstrated to me that the geocaching.com forums, to a great extent, can still be as nasty a place as ever.
So, I will stay here, amongst a kinder, gentler, more gracious and civilized people. To those that make this place what it is, thankyou…
P.S. Oh yeah, what they said… Nice Article!
Got it! Thanks… justed needed to know its name I guess
The ‘New’ tag drops off of a cache based on how long its been since it went online, not based on if its been found or not. There are some caches that due to their difficulty may not have a first find for months, some even a year, and they would not be considered a new cache for that long.

Arn & I have LaSalle’s Surprise just 1.2 miles NE of the Kewaunee-Door county line in Claybanks. I looked at the Nearby caches but can’t see your Forestville cache listed. What’s it called, I’d like to hunt it next time up
Regarding Door County vacation caches… I can’t speak for everyone, but I tend to be up there 2-3 times a year, on occasion I’m up just for the day. If a problem ever developed that couldn’t wait, I could easily be on site within a day.
If we get our WGA Cache Patrol in place, it will be even easier. I had a DC cache sort of go missing (its a long story) once, and Hotdogs Off Trail, the original proposer of the Cache Patrol concept, replaced it for us.
Be aware that the free Realplayer contains Spyware, the one reason I personaly refuse to use it.
Just went past Trip Wire about 10 minutes ago. Its only a few miles north of where I live, but I’ve never been in there. Now I’ve got a reason to check them out
