I assume you’ve got all of the ones in the Robert O Cook arboretum in Janesville? Tons of hiking trails with lots of caches mixed in and a new section of the Ice Age Trail goes through it. There’s also a challenge in the park, if you collect enough caches you can go for the mystery cache! Lots of variety too!
Actually, we haven’t. We have three dogs we almost always take with us and someone had told us awhile back they weren’t allowed. Now that I’m looking online, I can’t find any information on an official site.
Thanks! I think we’re going to look at the ATB series but it is good to know about Rockton; we spend 3 weekend days/month in Rockford but never get to cache much.
I e-mailed the CO but can anyone tell me if the ATB series is along a trail that has multiple parking locals (like the Ice Age Trail)? We won’t have time to do the entire thing so I’m trying to figure out a decent start and stop point.
The admin. is Ryan Rokey for https://www.facebook.com/groups/64733961200/ ; he’s been pretty active on GC.com’s wall the past few days. Looks like there are members from all over the globe. His mobile posts show up as from Freeport, IL.

Not reallly sure where the “Group” came from vs. the Non-profit org. Anyone have ideas?
Awhile back FB archived some old things; there were notices forever, but some other groups converted. I wonder if they somehow doubled up? Which is official?

D’oh…. I posted it to the “official” FB page, not the other one. Wonder who runs that one?
I had posted it to the Geocaching.com wall under “everyone” and to the group (rather than page) of the WGA.
Thanks!

Nice! Did you put it on facebook as well? I’m glad you put the tree on there instead of a guard rail. 🙂
I did. I shared it to the GC wall last night. 🙂
Directing LE to the DNR info for WI would also be helpful to show that geocaching is something the state is aware of and even involved in.
It isn’t ideal but if this becomes a bigger issue in the future, more counties that require forms to be submitted would be a pain but might help protect the game.
Really cute!
Done!

Great photos of some really neat places! Thanks for sharing them with us.
Thanks! The first 5 or so bridges are in another album. FB keeps crashing when I try to move them over. Those were at the very northern part of the park. If one didn’t have a glimpse of the skyline, he or she wouldn’t know they were even in NYC!
We’re back! Mission complete! The coin is beautiful. My log is below and this link should go to a public version of the album from FB. 🙂

We were visiting NYC over my school break and what better way to sightsee than to geocache?! The CO was kind enough to answer some questions before our trip and provide us his cell number in case we had any problems.
We started on Sunday 1/8 at 11:45 and finished literally as the sun was going down around 5:15 (with a few stops in between at cocoa stands and such). The weather was beautiful! I have to say, after 4 days previously of walking 6-10 hours/day, we were pretty beat by Sunday. If it wasn’t for the geocache challenge, we might not have gone to Central Park at all! Unfortunately, between being worn out and our limited day light hours, we didn’t have time to see much else around the park. We did pass the Balto statue and the Alice in Wonderland statue. Part of our lack of sightseeing in the park (and adding to our caching time) was due to many of the lawns being closed for the season.
At the end, our math was a little off so we called the CO who set us straight and verified the final coords. He also let us know to get a move on to the final because the sun was going down! We ran for it and found the cache. The coin is beautiful! TFTC!!!
What was the turkey shoot?

I’m at 199 caches. I didn’t realize changing my “will attend” to “attended” for last year’s and this year’s Bache would give me cache credits. A challenge just got me to 199. I don’t think my husband would forgive me if I log our next milestone from my computer desk; he was already skeptical about the attendance logs.
Well, my stat bar says 198 found, 1 Hidden, 1 Challenge despite the top of the account page saying 199. Didn’t realize that.
