CONGRATS Jacob!!! Here’s to many more!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! Seeing as how it’s official, I guess you both can be in the same cabin at the Great Northwoods Gathering now. LOL!!!

In the logs for cache #3, wis backpacker mentions having his brother-in-law along to geocache. wis backpacker also appears in another log (#1) but not in #2. It looks like a new cacher that is trying to back track the first finds when introduced to the sport. They probably wanted to be accountable on why they didn’t sign the log, even though they found it with wis backpacker. They may have mistakenly “guessed” wrong on one of the finds.
I have cached with my nephew and I don’t let him sign logs because he doesn’t have an account. I told him that when he does get an account, he can return to these caches to sign them and teach someone new about the hunt! You could e-mail wis backpacker for more info (in my opinion). I personally don’t think it’s “armchair caching”, because of the low number of logged finds. Love a mystery! 😕
This is exactly what Jacob did when he got his own account. Instead of claiming all those 1000s of finds with the family – he only claimed finds on the caches he went and found or revisited and signed his name into. No backlogging for him! When I asked if he wanted to claim all the caches he found before getting his account, he told me, “I didn’t find all those caches as Duck505, I found them as AstroD”. Gotta love the words of wisdom from a kid!
I use several methods. In GSAK I have a master puzzle database that I upload all puzzles into, and use the corrected coordinate field for all solves. About once a month, I user tick/filter all the caches that have corrected coordinate icon and print out a copy! I now have an up-to-date hard copy of all puzzle solve coordinates.
I also have paper copies of puzzles within 30 miles from home. They are kept in binders that are tab divided into solved/found; solved/unfound; virtual (gather info/offset types); and unsolved.
Found out at Scouts last night, that Jacob is parking cars for the Packer game on the 27th. So we won’t be able to tag along on that date. Bummer!

Sounds interesting and fun. Unfortunately we do not have snowshoes or the like to participate.
It has been my experience that this kind of problem can be solved by Christmas and a credit card. 😉
Otherwise, we may have some snowshoes we could lend out too.
The credit card won’t support it this year. If we can get three pairs of shoes, we’ll join you. Either date works for us. We’ll update on our status.
Astro – I think it cost me ~20 bucks to rent a pair last year from Schepard and Schaller in Wausau.
Cool. I think we’re gonna check into a few places to see if we can rent some. I’ll keep an eye on the date!

As my friends in England constantly comment – Americans don’t speak English. They speak American.

What does an official craphas measurer look like?
It’s basically a yard stick, but made of aluminum and the little black marks up and down the side are divided into inches and which are then further divided into tenths of inches. Unfortunately it does not have the power to make the craphas disappear.
Well the neighbor who’s car I helped get unstuck this morning came and cleared our driveway of the craphas after the plow came through (about 20 minutes ago).
Using my official craphas measurer that I got direct from the NWS office, we had 14.6 inches in our yard. Drifts were considerably higher.
Thankfully there’s no craphas in here!
Don’t eat the yellow craphas!!!
AstroDon managed to get 25 feet out of the driveway before getting stuck in the craphas. Took an hour and half to get back into the driveway. Still have a trek to the airport to attempt tonight..if the flight doesn’t get cancelled and we can get out of the driveway.
Stupid craphas!
😆 Craphas….. 😳 😆
Never said I could type!
My absolute favorite is Cranberry Torte. A recipe that has been handed down for many generations. Definitely not something for those counting calories though….as the torte is drowned in a sauce made of butter (the real kind not the fake stuff), sugar, and milk.
My second favorite is cut out cookies – another handed down recipe from many generations. I like using the foot cookie cutter and decorating it with “Feet Navidiad”! Or cutting out and decorating all 30 NFL team helmets… No conventional Christmas shaped cookies here.
