Astronomer’s Lighthouse Hunters votes for the weekend of June 22-24, 2007. Father’s day weekend conflicts with another 4 day camping weekend for me. If Father’s day weekend is the final answer, then I will make a choice. Looking forward to a third trip to Rock Island!

ps: Sorry for the late reply. I just stumbled across this thread while surfing the forums, which I virtually never do.
Great job Don, Kat, & Jacob! Sounds like a great trip. I knew you’d get to 1000 or not come home from your trip until you did.

Astronomer’s Lighthouse HuntersOk now I’m confused. I just spent 10 minutes looking for my morning log and it was gone. Now that I sent it again they are both here. I think it’s time for me to go home and rest my brain.

Astronomer’s Lighthouse HuntersSome how my log of this morning got erased. Here we go again. Congratulations on your 1000th find. Had a blast last weekend. You earned the finds at The Great Northwoods Gathering. Glad I could help make them a challenge for you.

Astronomer’s Lighthouse HuntersCongratulations on your 900th find! I think you’ve got your brother on the run. Uncle Fun, here he comes. Glad you came and helped make The Great Northwoods Gathering a blast.

Astronomer’s Lighthouse HuntersCongratulations on your 1000th find. Glad you could do it at The Great Northwoods Gathering last weekend. I hope Don & I didn’t make the cache hides too tough, but if we did, you overcame them anyway. This achievement was only surpassed by your record of eating 20 meals on Saturday night. See you again soon.

What a great time we had at The Great Northwoods Gathering at Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya this past weekend! Glad you were our cabinmates. Cabin #12 rules! Was your 300th find my “Blame George” Cache? No, I did not move it on you. Things to remember: sticks & reflectors. I’m sure we will meet again soon on the caching trails.

Astronomer’s Lighthouse Hunters (alias “Blame George”)Tami, I’m with you! After spending 11 hours hiding caches with Don of the AstroD-Team this weekend for “The Great Northwoods Gathering”, to be held in a couple of weeks, it’s not so bad even when way below zero. See you up North at the Gathering.

Astronomer’s Lighthouse HuntersThey went that way.
Congratulations Taxman1 on your 200th find! You did a great job on the “N.E.W. Solar System Series” including beating me out on first find for Mars. I’m sure you can’t wait till the Bonus cache is posted. See you in a couple of weeks at “The Great Northwoods Gathering”.

Astronomer’s Lighthouse HuntersAstronomer’s Lighthouse Hunters of Green Bay,WI has logged caches in Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, and Oklahoma. I have also done caches in Iowa and Florida along with the AstroD-Team before I registered and starting to enter my logs. Don’t know if this counts too but in any case it’s the fun of caching that really “counts”!

AstroD-Team is going on a weekend excursion to the Northwoods in January. We thought this would be a great place for geocachers to meet and have fun for the weekend.
Our question (based on the info provided below) would anyone be interested? The gathering would be held near Mountain, WI at YMCA Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya.
Each cabin has a furnace and a fireplace and sleeps 18 (bunk beds), Full use of the facilities including cross country skies and boots (miles of trails w/i the camp), sleds, ice skates, snow shoes, ice shanty, Access to a sauna on the lake front and Heated bathrooms with private showers. We would hide some temp caches at the camp and there is another 15+ permanent caches within 15 – 20 miles of the camp.
Approximate cost per person would be $15.00 depending on number of attendees. This price includes two nights lodging (Friday and Saturday) and use of all camp facilities and equipment. Plus the fun of hunting caches.
You will need to BYO food and drinks, sleeping bags, pillows etc. Each cabin has a deck that can accomodate small grills. There are a few nearby restaurants and grocery stores. There is also the local bar that’s within walking distance.
We are looking at a weekend in late January or early February. If there is enough interest, we will be willing to get this organized.
Don & Kat:
A definite possibility if not scheduled on the other weekends we are up there. I could help with set up too. I know we could find some neat hiding spots that would keep everyone thinking and not Doze-Inn.
