Not the most qualified at GSAK but I will have my little laptop with me if someone wants to learn the basics.  Not really willing to put on a presentation though, I know just enough to get by. 🙂

Unfortunately geocaching apps for the IOS ecosystem are very lacking.  I use c:geo on my Android phone pretty much exclusively now and love it.

I believe I discovered the WGA from an email that a cache owner sent me when I first started geocaching inviting me to the WGA Picnic.  I don’t participate nearly as much in the forums as I used to, something I’m making an effort to improve on.  I do read the forums quite often however.

My favorite type of tree is the mighty red wood.  Tall, strong, and majestic.

I have been on the board for two terms now.  Have I always been as fully engaged as I should have been?  No, life gets in the way sometimes.  That being said, I have attended nearly event that the WGA has held.  I have been to every yearly board meeting without fail.  So I feel that I will indeed go the distance, and I believe I have proven that through my actions.

    Passion

Working for the common good of an organizations members requires that you feel passionate for the work you are doing, and the organization you are serving.

in reply to: Candidate Question | The WGA Today… #2046306

The WGA’s mission is still very relevant today as it was in 2002 when it was founded.  As Geocaching has become more popular now that it can be done with a smart phone, I think education of new geocachers is one of the best things the WGA can do to make geocaching enjoyable for both the seasoned veteran and the new geocacher.  Also working with state and local government to keep rules and laws that effect geocaching from being too restrictive is something the WGA needs to keep up on.

Where I work didn’t have detailed instructions on how to do many of the tasks required for the job.  I took it upon myself to make detailed notes and instructions on how to do all of the functions of my job.

in reply to: Candidate Question| Are you a Hider or a Finder? #2046083

Excellent question, I would say that I am balanced when it comes to hiding or finding.  I have hidden a number of caches close to home, and have plans on hiding more in the very near future.  I have also held events in Sheboygan for a number of years with my wife Karen.

…If not a newsletter at least a Story for the front page of the site…maybe a weekly or monthly article. GSAK with a Hack….A Hack teaches GSAK

I had thought about doing something like that, but never pulled the trigger on it.  Of course if someone else with more experience and knowledge would like to do that it would be fine with me.

This should be solved to the best of my knowledge.

I can confirm that this account has been locked, so I guess Groundspeak has taken notice.

I have had zero problems with Windows 10, I’ve been a beta tester of Windows 10 before it was released as well.  It is most likely a browser issue and not Windows 10, but I use GSAK to load my GPSr so I wouldn’t be seeing what you are talking about.
