Hi JimandLinda, Thank you! Rosendale isn’t all that far. So, you are a Rosendalien now! LOL
Rosendalien
hehehehehe
Sorry that we didn’t make it this year, really wanted to come but just wasn’t in the cards this year. Glad everyone had a great time, hopefully we’ll get to come in April.
We’ll be camping at the park, looking forward to seeing everyone.
Along HWY 35 in the township of De Soto, WI is a small bar/restaurant called Great River Road House. We ate there Saturday afternoon while caching along the Mississippi River.
The sandwiches we had were outstanding and the pizzas that we saw being brought out (which seemed to be 90% of what was being ordered) looked fantastic. The atmosphere was very rustic with an old cabin look and feel. The wait staff was excellent and very attentive.
If your ever down along the Mississippi and you come across the Great River Road House don’t hesitate to stop in, you won’t regret it!!
Phone GPSr’s are notorious for not being the most accurate. They are designed more for navigation on roads/sidewalks rather then geocaching in wooded areas.
A couple of recent positives for us.
During the cache ba$h we lost our blue bag that had 2 recently purchased coins. A couple from Michigan had accidently picked it up during the heavy rains on Saturday while we were all huddled underneath the shelter. After several posts both here and on the cache page we figured out where our coins went and arranged for them to be returned. We received them last Wednesday.
The second positive was a recent Saturday evening when the wife and I were on our laptops getting ready for a caching trip with Scrappy Scout to the West Bend area. As I prepared the pocket query for download my phone starts making the sound it does when I get an email. What was strange about this was that it didn’t stop chiming for almost a minute! When I opened my email I was treated to a list of 26 newly published caches!!
This was around 11:00pm at night so we decided to quickly finish up what we were doing and get to bed. We woke up at 3:00am, loaded the GPSr and ran out the door. For the morning we found all 26 caches, ended up with 12 FTF’s, and had one of the best caching days we have had in a long time.
The afternoon we spent caching with our best buds Kevin & Meg (Scrappy Scout) down in a West Bend.
American Science and Surplus down in Milwaukee but they are a bit pricey from what I’ve seen.
Hurray!! Our coins have been found in Michigan. They were picked up on accident by a geocaching team we had been chatting with. We should be getting our coins and the rest of the contents of our swag bag on Wednesday.

if you haven’t contacted the Bash planners, do that and see if they will post an “announcement” to the event. those go out to all who posted “will attend” logs. that may be a good way to get the message out.
Thank You for the suggestion, hadn’t thought of that.
As a side note if you want to protect your Ipod Touch while out caching might I suggest “Otter Box”, I found one at Walmart on clearance (I have 2nd generation Ipod Touch) and I absolutely love it. It completely encases the Ipod including the screen and is very very sturdy.
I know they make them for other small hand held electronics as well. I’m looking into getting one for my Nokia E71 phone.
I’ll be happy to help again this year. You can mark me down for the Friday, Noon-3pm shift. If needed I can work other shifts as well.
Karen, Stephanie, and I will be be there. Use us where you need us.
Not exactly the same but my Android tablet updated on its own. I do have it set-up to get time from the internet via wi-fi however.

Should see it on the Color Computer II !!!
I had a couple of those too. 32KB of ram and 1MHz of 8 bit, bone crushing speed.
I really liked my CoCo.
I had one of these too. I even saved my allowance to buy the disk drive.
I have one sitting under my desk right now, looks like the day it came out of the box. Milwaukee PC was going to throw it out and I saved it. 🙂 Someday I’ll do something with it.
