I may be mistaken here, but my understanding is that NancyJo, aka Gr8 Eyes, spent most of her time assisting with the West Bend event and was able to get all of three tickets for finding those caches.
Guess who won the big prize? I know all of us have different reasons for making the choices we make, but we do have that power of choice. As a member of the current board, the prize tickets were another attempt to try and have something for everyone, and it sounds from this discussion as if that’s just an impossible goal. 🙁
You can please all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot please all the people all the time.”
When I first started going to events I have to admit that I logged the temp caches with multiple attends. Now I won’t say if this is right or wrong, but for me after giving it much thought I decided for me it wasn’t the right thing to do. I even went so far as going back and deleting all my multiple attend logs.
I agree with the rest of my fellow candidates on this issue, the current WGA policy of not allowing multiple attend logs for temp caches should stand as is.

Averith stoped by and showed us brain dead people how to use it AGAIN! This time I think we got it. Not for sale now.

Thanks for all the info. I bought the app and so far it works great. Looks like it is very easy to use.
Which app did you decide to go with?
Thank you for the excellent question, gotta run. In my opinion community outreach is a very important part of what the BOD needs to be addressing going forward. The more knowledge the general public has about geocaching the fewer instances of bomb scares related to caches we may see in the future.
Community outreach could take many forms perhaps WGA sponsored introduction to geocaching classes, or reaching out to local new outlets about running stories involving geocaching would be two possible ideas.
More important then what the BOD can do however is what the general membership can do. The BOD can and should take on a leadership role when it comes to community outreach, but without support and input of the general membership anything the BOD could do would be far less affective.
If elected to the BOD I would work to find opportunities to increase community outreach.
I use geosphere as well and love it, I’ve tried the geocaching.com app and just wasn’t very happy with it personally.
I’ll have to check that out once my knee feels better.
Karen and I would like to help out with the camp out committee this year.
I would say the most memorable caching related event for us in 2009 was reaching our 1000th find at the campout this year. Oh and the pajama contest during the pancake breakfast in West Bend for the Cache Bash.
Would this be a possibility??
Happy Holidays from the England family! Rob, Karen, Steph, and Brent
Karen and I are so happy for both of you!!! Congratulations!!!!!
This item has been sold, thanks kmhiker!!!!
I guess MIT won the challenge from what I’ve read.
Nothing in the Sheboygan/Plymouth WI area.
