I wonder if dues paying members will be getting credit for the downtime?
Now that’s an interesting question, wonder if they have some fine print we agreed to when we signed up for our accounts about that. I’ll look………….oh wait I can’t the @#$@#$@ site is down!!! 😕
Can you imagine how we would act if something happened to the GPS satellites?!?!?!!?! 👿 👿 👿

I was just wondering does the WGA website have an off site back up??? If not, perhaps would be something to seriously consider.
According to the CEO, they cannot afford 2 datacenters. So, there is no backup. 😯 We have 52 active caches and never thought about maintaining paper backups. Ouch…
I’m glad I thought ahead and downloaded all of the caches we own and have them backed up on my Palm TX, also have all the caches we have found backed up on it as well.

I know most people will disagree with me but my Magellan Triton 2000 in spite of some it’s other problems seems to hold it’s signal lock through just about everything we’ve thrown at it. Dense woods, cloud cover, one story buildings, etc. Just my humble opinion.
On behalf of all of us (Rob, Karen, and Stephanie) thank you for a fantastic event!! We had such a wonderful time visiting with everyone, geocaching, eating pancakes, and everything else.

Welcome from the bratwurst capital of the world. 😆

Just paid for our spot in the group camping area. Guess that means only 3 spots left.

I tent camp in January. 🙂

I haven’t tried it yet, but I’ve heard good things. I notice in their installation instructions they recommend upgrading Vista (as opposed to doing clean install). I’d be interested in hearing people’s experiences with that. This sounds great because I’m not a big fan of reformatting and reinstalling everything, although it does clean out the cobwebs.

I did a clean install from XP, I also did a dual boot of XP and 7 for a while.
I’ve been using Windows 7 Build 7000 for several months now and I love it thus far. Will work on installing the RC maybe this weekend.
I’ve been using the Garmin Nuvi 200 for about a year now and love it. It’s on sale at Walmart for around $120.00 I think. Any of the Garmin Nuvi’s will work well for what you want to do.
Wish we could come but the wife wont be getting off work until 10:00am, and by the time we get up to Appleton from down here in Sheboygan you guys will all be done. 🙁

Paperless caching with the Nuvi is great! Pocket queries can be loaded into it that include all the info on each cache’s webpage…the hint is even decoded. And the Nuvi takes you right to them. I still use my handheld Lowrance when I get to the site, but the Nuvi does have a pedestrian mode. The only downside is that it has limited battery life and you don’t want to get it wet! Here’s a link from the Garmin website to get you started:
http://pilotsnipes.googlepages.com/index.htmlThank you so much!! I didn’t know that it was possible to load that much cache info onto the Nuvi. I had just been loading the gpx file directly to the nuvi using POI loader. Thanks for sharing this!!
I would have to agree with everyone’s comments. I use my Nuvi 200 to get me close then use my Magellan Triton 2000 out of the car. I also have found that the Nuvi doesn’t always take you to the best location for parking but I suppose that is why we have to use our brains on occasion and not just our tech.
