Put us down for Sunday all day, we love doing these types of events. Both Karen and I will be there.
It’s basically a conference of people where the people attending the conference are the ones doing the presenting of topics. You sign up for a time slot to do a presentation on “XYZ” and if people are interested they come and check it out.
So for example I plan on doing a talk about geocaching. When I arrive in the morning their will be a board where I can sign up for a time slot in one of the many rooms that will be available. When the time comes I will give my presentation (each presenter will have approx 45 minutes to an hour), answer questions, have a discussion.
Some of the topics I know that have been thrown about by people who are involved in the planning have been; Papermaking with Recycled Materials, Molecular Gastronomy, Photoshop: how to edit any image, Open SCAD – Designing 3D Objects, Symfony2 by Example.
This is just a small example of the type of things that will be presented, I’ve even heard someone thinking of teaching how to make head cheese.
Let me know if I can answer any other questions.
We continue to work on both of the Wisconsin Delorme challenge’s as well as the county challenge, but with the high price of gas and the lack of full time employment we can’t really afford to get the last remaining places way up north. We hope that will change at some point, because we really do want to complete the challenges.
We found 4 out of the 5 we tried yesterday. The one we DNF’d was in a very high muggle area so we’re thinking that the cache was gone.
Karen is planning on placing a night cache.
Didn’t do the first one, but I did this one.

So am I, but I don’t think I will fit in the luggage. 🙂

My TB has been raised from the grave of a cemetery cache thanks to Jim. Now Jim please be nice and send it somewhere that it might have a chance of getting a couple of miles anyway. Please 🙂
Welcome back to cheese land! 🙂
You should only do what you feel up to, no sense getting yourself hurt when you don’t have too.
Got ours in the mail today (Saturday). We actually have a couple of metal detectors from Mine Lab, don’t use them very often though.
Haven’t gotten ours yet, but from the sound of it their is still some hope. 🙂

What about an interstate tug of war? One for kids, one for adults?
That sounds like fun! 🙂

Is Rick W eligible again this year if he submits the essay?
I was just wondering the same thing actually.
We carry a tool box full of repair equipment (containers, logs, swag, duct tape, etc…). We’ll repair caches that need it if we are able, though we tend to do it more for cachers we know who don’t have a problem with it. We have had situations where people have gotten upset about us repairing their caches.
