Uggh – spent all weekend caching and no ticks on either myself or my kids but the little one had one on her back this afternoon… those things are tough to get off. Had no idea they liked backs so much so thanks for that info and the repellent info. May get some for the clothes.
Congratulations! Nice job on a FTF too 😀
Congrats LilVanMan! Enjoyed caching with you the other day.. 200 already?! You’ll be passing us by before too long!
Also late here but congrats!!!
Congrats Van’s Clan!! Shell game was certainly a worthy milestone and thanks even more for the great 400 series you and team LEU put out – great fun!!
Fantastic event – thank you so much GMO and WGA for putting it all together. Its nice to be able to give something back after enjoying all these parks for caching and also great to be able to involve the kids in something so worthwhile.
Thanks!! Had a great weekend of caching at the CITO and then the Stevens Point event topped off by another day of caching on Monday.. personally I think every Monday should be a day off for caching 😀 . Scored #400 on SPACVB Tree Hugger, a nice easy one! Roll on the next 100 😀
just bought the 255W nuvi and will be playing with it tonight so will let you know what I think!
Congrats on reaching 400 :D!! Hopefully I’ll be right behind you getting to that milestone!
WOW – Just checked out that link and how cool is that?! I will be shopping tonight for a nuvi that’s for sure!! Thanks for the info – can’t wait to try it out!!

no notification about a new cache today – what’s going on??
same here – checked thought the cache listings and noticed at least 4 that I had not had notifications about. Strange thing was that I had got notifications of caches much further away. Glad to hear it wasn’t just me either!
I am lucky that I live within one mile of a DNR center and at the bottom of hill of one of the places I have a few caches hidden so I normally go in and get the approval face to face which is nice – always good to build up a rapport with the DNR folks. The only query I have is whether the cache is hidden in a state natural area which is a no no. Apart from that they are more than happy to see me plant caches as it brings more people into the state park. I have also had emails from the DNR asking me for feedback on the parks that I take my students to on various field trips I run so its nice to know that they are looking to take on board any suggestions for improvements as well.

I nearly always do.. in fact some of my best geocaching adventures have been on DNF’s. The only time I don’t is when I don’t feel I have searched enough or if I didn’t have enough time for a proper search. In that case I go back and then try again. If I am going out caching and a cache has had several DNF’s with no owner check they I will probably leave it until I know its there.
Another good reason to log them is that you might get help from others – after my 10th (maybe higher) DNF on Sundrop 1 Team Black Cat checked on it for me and confirmed it was indeed there. I am pretty sure I wouldn’t have found it without their help! -
