Nice work PuzzleJunkie! Couldn’t imagine you doing it any other way.
Cache on! 😀
Thanks to J&L for organizing this (and for the cocoa with marshmallows!)
Great time hooking up again with some geofriends and putting a face with a name for some others!

Well here’s the understatement of the week.
Who asked you Puzzle Boy! :p
It is official. 2boyz did pick up a few more (including another FTFs) to be the first to complete the series using the caches … all before leaving the cold behind. Another congrats!

So…does this mean my walking stick should be named after a president? Is there some bit of folklore behind stick naming I’ve missed?
Can’t say that there is folklore or a presidential rule (maybe there is one starting though.) My story… CJ and I were heading into the marsh and I didn’t have poles. In the past, I’ve always just picked one up along the trail, but seeing we were heading into a marsh I didn’t think I’d find one, so I decided to grab a cedar stick I had left over from some trimming. It proved so useful and made such a good conversation piece, I decided to save it from becoming firewood and keep it for future use. For some reason I felt my “big stick” needed a name, and since it helped me “walk softly” when I carried it, the name Roosevelt just fit (besides, calling it Teddy just seemed silly). Today, now that Roosevelt has become a part of my geocaching experience, I’ve decided to give him his own TB#.
But that’s just me…and I’m a little quirky, in case no one has noticed.
700 finds is nice and all, but what I really want to know is are you planning something special when you hit 5000 posts?
Seriously, great job on the milestone! Cache on! 8)
P.S. Flat Jack says congrats, too!

Hey cheeto. Roosevelt has lots of brothers and sisters laying on my woodpile. He and the rest of his kin are from the cedar family. I can bring you one from the litter if you like [;)].
Grab one for me would ya? A high quality twin of ‘Roosevelt’ will do just fine for me.
FYI – I’m 6′ 6″ tall. 😉
I’ll sort through the pile and see if I can find you a nice tall sturdy straight one. You’ll have to come up with your own name for it though. 😆

Think I should pick up some of those lightweight trekking poles?
I’ve been finding that on a trail, poles just get in my way. But when breaking trail, especially though tall grass and reeds, it’s handy to have something to brace yourself. Also, it’s nice to have something along to test snow, ice, and water depth. That’s why I carry “Roosevelt” – a 5+ foot 1″ thick stick. I’ve found it to be helpful for making it through the rough and as I discovered recently, probing underwater looking for sunken caches.
[/img]Roosevelt and I haven’t been out since the 1st when we conquered the SSSS’s with CJ. This sound just like the adventure we are craving. You can count in the two of us and Flat Jack (who will ride in my backpack).

Great job. You’re in good company. Seems like that 1K list just keeps growing!
Cache on! 😀
Now I think some Wisconsinite needs to do a Winter version of this— complete with chattering teeth, howling wind, blowing snow, dropping your GPS in a snowbank, and frostbit fingers as you try and sign the log. And to keep the sarcasm going, each time you look in the wrong spot you get a virtual facewash.
The Dollar Tree store CJ mentioned does have them, but they are pretty flimsy compared to the real thing. As J&L mentioned, the Oshkosh South Pick & Save does carry the durable ones. I think the Oshkosh Festival does, too. Might want to check them out in your area.
You’ve come a long way in 1,522 days since your first find, Mike. Just over 1 cache per day since then. Nice job.
