Wow! This is why I love these forums. Ask and ye shall receive. Thanks for everyone’s response to this.
Way to go CJ on December! I’m not a Lonely cacher, but I did get to be there for his kickstart to 2010! Maybe we can get team CodeRdz back together for a few more. [;)]
*starting this addiction
*placing my first cache
*having to archive my first cache due to dangerous muggles (sorry again Jim)
*my first encounter with a rattlesnake in the wild not even 20 caches in to this game
*Tuesday night caching with my kids for their first finds
*meeting legends and newbees alike
*losing my 1st GPS in South Park on a DNF
*my first experience with winter caching and sinking into a drift up to my waist – not all dead ends are created the same
*introducing my sister to this game and her turning my name into an adjective to describe camo style
*discovering more pill bottles than a Walgreens puts out in a month
*…and so many more memories to mentionThank you to everyone who has made my first 6 months of caching so memorable and exciting to continue into 2K10!
Nice to meet you at your milestone!

I wanted to vote for two things. While I am officially going be at a bar not getting drunk, the reason fit the other category. I will be running a karaoke show and watch (and unfortunately listen to) drunk people make fools of themselves because the government says they legally can longer than normally allowed. At least I’ll be making money instead of spending it.
I prefer my family tradition of pickled fish over fish soaked in drain cleaner. 😉

Can you find a place to rent before buying? Or have someone who can lend you a pair of snowshoes?
I have rented both snowshoes and cross country skis at Bubolz Nature Preserve (Appleton) and Heckrodt Nature Preserve (Menasha). Both were part of school field trips and the equipment needs to be used on site.
You may want to check with the schools. I’m renting a pair from my local school district’s “Snowshoe Club” – which I didn’t even know existed. Cost is a steal – $10 for the “Holiday Break”, Dec 23. thru Jan. 4. One down side, no poles. Upside – you can go anywhere with them and the price for the time. Scheels in Appleton rents them for $10/day and that doesn’t include poles either!
Delayed congrats Frmr!
When I read your post for my cache, I wasn’t sure that one was the cache you did for #400, but I knew you were on the run for it.
Glad to know that even with the snow that one is still findable…especially with the right coordinates posted. Isn’t that right Todd & Bartrod? 😉Keep up the fun! Cache on! 8)
Looks like it was a good run to get there. Way to go!

12/13/2009 at 9:28 pm in reply to: Pilotage Helps BakRdz Complete 600th Mission B-17 Navigator #1918152Thanks everyone! This caching in the “craphas” (especially in the country in the cold) makes it a bit more difficult than I expected, but still lots of fun. Including a few FTFs and a well done multi courtesy of the King and Queen of the Sovereign State made this a memorable start to December.
Think I’m going to concentrate on urban caches for a bit (not that those will probably be any easier) before going out to into the wild to attempt what will likely be just as memorable — Number SSSSix SSSSix SSSSix!

Hit 13 today (including a FTF) on a run to #600. A lot more dnfs today compared to normal due to deep snow, cold winds, and being a first time snowcacher. Learned a lot today including country cemeteries get really deep drifts and even dead end caches aren’t gimmies when there is a 5 foot snowpile there.
Awesome job. Just in time before the snow!
Cache on! 😀
Very cool Mike!
Cache on! 😀
Many congrats on the colossal milestone! Thanks for including one of my caches on your run.
Cache on!
😀Why do I get the feeling that for Sagasu-san, “the numbers” have become simply happy accidents that occur along his cache maintenance, FTF, and LC travels? Never the less… a great accomplishment that deserves recognition!
Cache on Dave!
