Most of the cachers that I know in my area appreciate help in cache maintenance and we help each other out…and if anybody ever finds that one of mine needs it, please feel free to help 😀

You should be reasonably safe now for a few weeks…unless you dress like a partridge or pheasant. It’s always a good idea to have a little blaze orange on anytime after Oct. 1 though…just to be safe 😀

What type of gloves do you guys wear when caching in the cold? I’m sure the bigger ski gloves might be a bit bulky to be able to navigate the buttons on a GPS. At the same time, the thin driving gloves may not be warm enough for caching. So I would assume you wear something in between.
I’m a Fleet Farm guy…wear three sets of gloves…a light thin cotton/nylon pair… to manipulate the buttons on the GPS… inside a pair of wool chopper liners and an oversize pair of leather chopper mitts that slip off easily. Heck, if you can get a big enough pair of oversized choppers you can even keep your GPS inside one of them keeping it warm and snug. They’ll withstand any kind of cold…and I’m a woosy when it comes to cold 😀
Hey…I got FTP on this page. Oh, wait…that’s another thread 😆

What is geocaching like when there are several inches of snow on the ground? How difficult is it?
Look for the winter-friendly icons in the attributes, but also add a snow shovel to your list of caching supplies…with maybe a bag of sand in the trunk, a towrope…[:D]

Congrats to Zoesbrother on his 1200th find at ” Lake Wissota – Horse Trail # 1″ and pretty sure it was mostly on the geobike!
Actually, I saw him “hoofing” it with the rest of us peons. But congratulations ZoeBro[:D]

Try the regional forums for those parts of the state…they’ll give you some ideas for memorable caches. Then you can explore their terrain difficulties and make choices[:D]
