A really terrific and challenging series of caches is Merlin’s Major Feat (GC1BCW8) by Lander and Lancelot in/around the Bonduel area. Cachers have to find clues in five different caches and on a travel bug in order to find and log the final. The caches range in difficulty from 1 to 4. If you have a sense of adventure and enjoy a good challenge, I recommend you give this one a try 😀

It was the Pilotsnipes version 2.0 that came with my GSAK program…I have GSAK 7.5.1.28. GSAK has come out with a newer one but the last time I upgraded, I had all sorts of problem so I’m sticking with my old one. If you have questions, try the GSAK forums…that’s where I resolved my problems…their techs are go-o-o-d 😀

I’d normally say, Welcome to the great adventure! But it looks like you’ve already got a head start 😀

I placed a cache at the Holt & Balcom Logging Camp in Lakewood this summer. The camp put on a program in July called “Ladies of the North-Holts, Housewives, and Hookers” that was attended by on overflow crowd. Lucy Holt was the wife of one of the lumber barons of the 1800s. The housewives had to tend the “store” while the guys were out lumberjacking in the winter months. And the hookers…well, you know! This program is having a repeat performance at Oconto City Hall at 6:30 on Tuesday, Aug. 11th (I should have posted this sooner.) If you like history, it’s well worth the $5 donation 😀

They ought to expand this to GPSrs. If you have a GPS that can’t display more than 6 characters in the cache ID name or doesn’t have a color screen you get $75 to upgrade your clunker. If you have a Lowrance you get $100 automatically.

                                Oh…I like that idea! Does that mean I’d get $175 for my Lowrance H2O 😀 😀 😀

I found some hilarious geocaching stories in Online Geocaching at http://onlinegeocacher.com/ Scroll down to Fun Stuff…my favorites are Machismo and The Great Chicken Caper. Thought I’d share…they brightened up my morning after finding I needed to buy a new motor for my boat and a new engine for my wife’s car.
