Happy pi day 🙂

Spoiling the grandkids for the first time in more than a month.:)

I found info on the web…apparently not a Copper Culture site like the one in Oconto. The mounds in Perrot date to the more recent Hopewell culture but there appear to be many sites in the area that date all the way back to the paleo era. Mound building didn’t occur until the Woodland and Oneota eras though. Copper Culture Mounds State Park was misnamed cuz there’s no mounds here…the Copper Culture predated mound building, pottery making, bows and arrows, and agriculture. There certainly must have been trading with the Copper Culture at some point though if copper artifacts were discovered in your area. Interesting….glad you mentioned it.
Happy Bday CTQ…hope you didn’t get blown away by the occasion 🙂

How old is the site dated to?

The wind has been horrible and constant sinceMonday night. Supposed to die down by noon, after which time we hope to go exploring. Temple mounds built by “immigrants” from Cahokia. We visited that site about a year ago, so this should be interesting…if these winds ever stop.
The archaic copper culture! Whereabouts?

A good day to find a few caches before it gets cold again. No snow left on the ground here.
There’s snow here but not much…got out this weekend myself to make a couple of yellow smileys in the snow 🙂 I’ve been catching up on reading my mail too…noticed that Merc Inc. got his article published in this month’s issue of FTF Magazine…there’s some scary caching experiences shared in there!

Arghh! Someone tried to bust into my gadget cache and damaged it…@#$&…I think I’m going to be archiving the Yellow Brick Road Series next fall. Maintenance is getting to be a PITA 🙁

It’s still there…too much traffic…too little time after lunch at Costco…that place is worse than the malls during Christmas season!

FTF ALERT FOR BARTROD! This cache just published an hour ago within 5 miles of the airport. (might be the same CO that did the puzzle you mentioned grabbing?)

HP2…the weather forecast was for 6-10 inches of snow for the top of the volcanoes…can’t get too far away from the stuff it seems.
Sandlanders…I played pickleball out at the old airport on Monday morning…quite the popular thing here. I also found the final to a puzzle cache out there one day 🙂 aOconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
Arghh! Last day here and it’s raining…was hoping spring would welcome us back to WI…looks like there could be some yellow smilies still showing up in the snow.

…am curious where HP2’s coordinates would take us!??
The N/W coordinates were meant to identify GZ of the Grafiti Galore Virtual, hope we got it right. Without the W or a ‘-‘ before the second number, it’s likely on an atoll or a cargo ship further west in the Pacific?

LOL:)
I wonder if becca noticed that I dropped the smiley at both of her earthcaches.Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
