I’m suprised that Sandlanders didn’t claim First To Post on this page. As far as Bartrod being naughty or nice, the next week will see what list he goes on in my book. I put out several new caches to entice him to the GB event before he heads off to the Appleton event. He said he might grab them another day while running errands in town. I know the simple answer might be to disable them for a couple of days next week.
Huh! Now I know where the Grinch lives.
We just got back from my daughter’s…had to check out our grandson’s Christmas program 🙂 Ya gotta love those kindergarten teachers…what they have to tolerate at this time of year!!!

Hey! There’s no naughty list this year!!! Does that mean Santa’s visiting me this season? 🙂

Snow??? What little we had melted…so much for living near the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field. Maybe tomorrow. If the weatherman is right, I’ll be going into hibernation shortly…oh, wait…I already am. Never mind 🙂

Whoo hoo! I was one of the lucky 1500 and got my urban adventure suitcase in the mail today. Anybody else?

FTP for Saturday at 11:15 AM? Still under the weather. Tried hunting on Thursday, but occasional coughing fits not conducive to hunting. Stayed home most of the day yesterday, except for changing a flat tire on Betty’s car and taking it to a tire shop for repairs. Might venture out later this afternoon.
That’s really unfortunate…the temps have been ideal for sitting in the woods. I’ve actually kinda missed it the past two days. Hope you can get out for a bit.

Arghh! My laptop died.
You can load individual caches by plugging the 62 into your computer and downloading the cache directly from its webpage. Click Send to My GPS and follow directions.Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
In case I don’t make it back here before Saturday morning, good luck to all you hunters, and everyone stay safe, whether you are hunting deer or tupperware.
And good luck to you 🙂 For the 3rd year in a row I’m not venturing out…have a nice stand in front of my fireplace>

Happy Thanksgiving!!
Mom-in-Law is getting a new hip the Wednesday before the real Thanksgiving, so we gathered and were thankful today.
I hope it goes as well for her as it did for me. I’m sure that the pain relief will make for a happy Thanksgiving 🙂

I open the GPX file and find nothing but a folder labeled Archive, a file labeled *****lpt, and a file labeled current.
If you open the Archive file, delete any in there. And do the same with the current file unless there’s any in there you don’t want deleted.

Bartrod I do the opposite of what you mentioned. If you load them as POI’s (points of interest), it only gives you limited info, such as the GC number. If you load it as favorites/geocaches, it will show you (if you set it up that way) the GC#, Cache Title, D/T, description, and coordinates. I actually prefer to see that data on my Nuvi. Having said that, if loaded as favorites, it is potentially trickier to delete them. There are I think three different macros in GSAK that one can use to transfer geocaches to Nuvi’s, not counting the “export to Garmin POI” command in the file menu (which is a point of interest, not a favorite). I’m only familiar with the master reset option to erase the favorites but there may be other ways. A master reset will erase all favorites and will restore your GPSr to the default factory settings. To perform a master reset on most NUVI’s: While the NUVI is OFF, press and hold the lower right hand corner of the touchscreen Power on the device while continuing to hold the display Remove your finger from the touchscreen when “Erase all user data?” appears and then select “Yes” The device will now reset, and all favorites will be erased. You’ll potentially need to re-enter your preferences and any favorites you’d like to keep (such as home address) A master reset only takes a matter of minutes so it’s not as bad as it sounds, but you may have to re-enter some information.
I have a Nuvi 1300LM which I don’t use much anymore. A while back after a map update I noticed that a bunch of old caches had reappeared and because I didn’t have much else on the thing I thought I’d try this master reset thing. Guess what, it removed the few favorites I had entered BUT NONE of the CACHES.
I found on my new Nuvi model that I could delete caches by plugging it into my computer, opening the Nuvi file, and deleting the caches from the gpx file. I don’t know if that would work for your 1300 but give it a try and see what happens.
