We left Penninsula S.P. before the rain set in this morning…no issues with the Jeep all week:) Maybe it was a once in a lifetime manifestation!

Brushing up on goat judging info this morning. Doing the goats and dairy cattle Thursday in Green Lake. Headed to BigJim country in a month. Goats and trdairy in Rosholt for Portage County. Always fun to work with the 4-H youth!
Reminds me of the Dish commercial on tv…”you don’t want no goat”…lol!

They finally got the power on in the park last night. My wife is really happy not to have to use the pit toilets anymore!

Finally got a campsite this morning…power still out to the north… Lots and lots of trees down.

No issues with the Jeep getting to Penninsula…not so lucky getting a site…power is down from the storm and the park computers are dead. Lots of trees down…southbound traffic in Egg Harbor was backed up half way to Fish Creek…hope they get the power up overnight.

Little Jim bought his first brand-new car on Monday, 2015 Jeep Renegade. Yesterday he drove home from Rhinelander, parked in the garage, and went inside to change clothes. He backed out of the garage, shifted into drive, and the engine died and would not start again. Called roadside assistance, and they sent a wrecker to take it to the dealership. The service department closed at noon, so it will sit there until Monday morning.
Bummer!!! Am always hesitant to consider a new model until it’s been in production a few years and they’ve worked the kinks out.

That looks like a really fun cache! We’re headed to Penninsula S.P. tomorrow if the Jeep behaves itself…hasn’t leaked a drop of oil since our adventure on Monday. I also found out it’s a bad time of the year to be car shopping.
How many miles are on your Jeep Rod. I’m up to 196,000 and just had to put an alternator on it. Pulley was frozen and the serpentine belt wouldn’t turn. $300.00 was still a better investment than a switch. After all it is a Jeep.
I’m right behind you, Bill…195,000+. I’d get the issue repaired too if they could figure out what caused it. There’s so many memories that go with it!

WHO is Polite Pete? Am I missing out here?

RMNP is awesome, Becca…have been there a couple of times. We planned on visiting Mesa Verde one year…happened to be the year of the big fires there and they closed the park down…ended up spending the time in Durango instead. There are some fascinating things to see in that area too!
Am not too serious about watching the Brewers any more this year after yesterday…Nelson deserved a win. I don’t understand how they can build a team by trading away their best players!?? At least the start of Packer training camp will give us something to look forward to:)Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
No rain here again! My lawn has gotten brown and crisp.

Arghhh! The Jeep spit out 7 quarts of oil on the way home from my daughter’s yesterday…mechanic can’t figure out why cuz it’s not doing it now…think I need either a new Jeep or a new mechanic!
High crankcase pressure can push oil out of an engine. High pressure is usually caused by a stuck or blocked PCV.
Just a thought.
That was one of the thoughts my mechanic had too.

7 qrts? So everything that was in there? Someone leave out the drain plug? Was there oil on the engine or under it? There aren’t valve covers caps anymore…Missing dipstick. That is a lot of oil.
I put in 2 1/2 quarts before leaving my daughter’s, another 1 1/2 quarts after about 2 hours on the road, another quart about an hour later, and two more quarts when I got to Shawano. All the oil was underneath, nothing was missing or lose, and now it’s not leaking at all…I’m as dumbfounded about that as the mechanic. So now the question is, do we take the camper to Door Co. this weekend with the Jeep…or not? Let’s put it to a vote here in the forums!
