Gasp! I got a FTF today…in Michigan. I had to run to Mennard’s in Marinette. There was a new cache published a couple of days ago that hadn’t been found yet across the river. Zuma had DNF’d it…but I thought, I’m close. Why not give it a try? I have to thank Zuma for giving up on it too easily and leaving it for me. I think that’s the first FTF I’ve found in a couple of years. Whoo-hoo π

Wow! What Iβve been missing by not getting up to northern Wisconsin to cache! Cement Park! Wow! Double Arch Stone Bridge! Wow!
What? You didnβt go to Lumberjack Totems?
I wanted to go there, but I was working and only stopping at caches that I was driving past.
The lumberjack totem is awesome…youβve gotta see that one. Today I saw the worldβs 3rd largest loon in Mercer…now to find the two biggest!
My wife and I are staying at a cottage we rent every year at Star Lake. Someone dropped off a census on our doorstep the other day…was that you? Or donβt you get this far north?Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
Flood warning here…have been practicing holding my breath.

I just got back from my daily walk…came back through downtown. It looks like all the taverns and restaurants are reopened for business as usual…lots of traffic again. Yikes!!!

Living in a small town, I rarely see any of my former 5th grade students cuz, once they graduate from high school, they leave the community. But every once in a while, someone will come up to me and say, “Hi, Mr. B” and I have to scratch my head and ask them to identify themselves. Growing up, the guys have accumulated facial hair, the girls have developed a figure, everyone is a good foot taller and few pounds heavier, but the names always stick in my head and I’ll remember when…. I considered myself blessed when I had my first hip replaced at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay and three of my nurses were former students of mine.
Thanks for sharing your stories…very uplifting during these times when most news is so depressing. πOconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
Have to vent…sorry π
I’ve had two ammo boxes go missing this month. One was in a high muggle area and had been replaced a couple of times previously. I had reports of cachers having found it out in the open…jeeze!!! It’s only understandable that I archived it.
Today I found another that was…I call it what it is…stolen. I don’t know what else you’d call what I found at GZ…the ziplock with the log and swag. It was on the Oconto River Trail…not exactly a high muggle area. I saw only one other person on the trail. I’m not getting any more ammo boxes. I’ve lost others in the past and it’s just not worth it any more.
Rant over. Maybe the isolation is getting to me finally too. Stay safe everyone.Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
It looks like it’ll be a while before my new caches will get published π And my annual fishing trip in a month is now officially cancelled π π π

I’d like to think those in the DNR and the advisors to the Governor were direct witnesses to the problems that resulted in the Governor’s decision. I’m apt to accept that having not seen it for myself. I’m an advocate of keeping a safe distance. My wife is in the high risk area. Trash can always be dealt with in the aftermath. I’ve been doing a lot of walking myself and haven’t encountered those kinds of issues. Of coarse, I don’t live in a very populated area. My sympathies to those that do. These are indeed difficult times.

Happy Easter. May God bless you all π

I took a nostalgic walk down the Yellow Brick Road to retrieve some of the Wizard’s old caches that I couldn’t get to last year…still pretty wet along the trail. I heard lots of frogs and saw some deer, turkey, and pteradactyls…that’s’ what my wife calls the cranes π

I got nothin’…which I guess is the object of all this.

I have places to go: the kitchen, the bathroom, the mailbox β¦
I have people to see: my wife, the news anchors, Joe Exotic β¦
I have things to do: eat breakfast, wash my hands, eat lunch, wash my hands β¦
Hey! What a coincidence…me too! Except for Joe Exotic???

Hallelujah! The city is closing down all it’s boat landings effective at 9:00 tonight. My opinion of city government just went up a notch π

The walleye spawn has started. I biked out to the breakwater boat landing yesterday…it was crazy! The parking lots were overloaded, trailers parked up and down Harbor Road and out on County Y. There were more than a dozen out-of-state license plates from as far away as South Dakota and Utah! So much for social distancing and travel restrictions…and all this for one walleye which is the limit now π

Looks like there will be a lot of FTF opportunities on May 1.
My birthday π
