Ammo is getting scarce! This morning I lucked out and was able to buy two boxes of it. I placed the boxes on the front seat and headed home but stopped at a gas station where a drop-dead gorgeous blonde in a short skirt was filling up her car at the next pump.
She glanced at the two boxes of ammo, bent over and leaned in my passenger window and said in a sexy voice, “I’m a big believer in barter, old fella. Would you be interested in trading sex for ammo?”
I thought for a few seconds and asked”What kinda ammo ya got?”

I guess that’s why Oconto earned the Bird City designation:)…. to go along with the “Birthplace of Modern Civilization” tile.
Well, of coarse…that goes without saying:)

I finally saw the snowy owl that’s been hanging around the area yesterday. My wife and I were taking the back road to Marinette where a few of her friends were throwing her a birthday party…and there it was…perched in a tree alongside the road in the Oconto Marsh just before dusk. Awesome! And this afternoon I saw a pileated woodpecker fly through my yard. I guess that’s why Oconto earned the Bird City designation:)I hate you in a very good kind of way. Please tell me you got some photos….please…
No pics…we didn’t have time to stop on the way. And the woodpecker was just passing through…apparently, it wasn’t very photogenic. I’m going to keep my eye out for the owl though…it’s been in the area for several weeks now.

A woman walked into the kitchen to find her husband stalking around with a fly swatter. “What are you doing?” she asked.
“Hunting Flies” he responded.
“Oh! Killing any?” she asked.
“Yep, 3 males, 2 Females,” he replied.
Intrigued, she asked, “How can you tell them apart?”
He responded, “3 were on a beer can, 2 were on the phone.”

Ah! I see what’s meant about the wormhole…interesting.
My wife’s birthday is on the 21st too…she’s not real nuts about it unlike the squirrel though:)

I’m back!!! After not being able to log in for several weeks, I finally tried changing my password again…eureka! So, a happy belated birthday to Mrs. S and BC. And for Birdin’, the local newspaper has a photo of a snowy owl that’s been hanging around Oconto recently…the pic was taken at the construction site of a new mini-golf course right on the main drag. Unfortunately, I was out of town spoiling the grandkids again and missed it. I hope it hangs around the area a little longer.
P.S. The hip is doing great…I actually got out and found (or not found in two cases) a few caches in New Richmond this weekend before the frigid air moved in. That may be the end of that for a while though unless someone traveling south would like to take me with them…hint, hint!Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
Screamin’ Mimi60 hit her 2000th on that day…not sure which cache…while we were out caching with labzone and marc54140.

I received my new Jung’s seed/plant catalog in the mail today…whoo hoooo! Can spring be far behind?

I’ve been having trouble accessing the website the last two days…WA changed my password and now I can get in…still been getting Internal Server Error messages though.
I went to see the Hobbit yesterday too…BBG was right…that’s one lo-o-ong fight scene. I read the book years ago…don’t remember the war of the 5 armies…may have to reread it this winter, although I think Noonan is right. The writers’ took some/lot of literary leeway.
Am looking forward to a couple of the winter solstice events tomorrow…might even hobble over to a couple of caches with my winter logging equipment:)

That was a nasty Packer loss…hope the Vikings can do them a favor…so far, so good!

Interesting! Although Groundspeak no longer posts a link to the newest caches in WI on my profile page, the link above provided by raslas is still an active link. I like the feature so I’ve added it to my “Favorites” list since this seems to be about the only way to access it. Thanks, raslas:)
