Congratulations, Barry and Val. I’m sorry that I had to bail out at the last second…sometimes life’s little priorities mess up the best of intentions. I was really looking forward to another milestone adventure with you…I even had my “smiley” spray bottles all refilled 8)

Willow River State Park outside of Hudson has a bunch of caches in it…some of the cachers over in that part of the state have some unique and interesting caches and containers that I don’t normally see around my part of the state…they cater to a lot of the MN crowd who make “raids” across the border…neat little park with a waterfall and some great trails.

Lake Wissota S.P. is outside of Chippewa Falls…just a short jaunt from the Leinenkugel Brewerey…the WGA had its fall picnic there a couple of seasons ago and we had a great time… caching, that is ๐Ÿ˜†

          Subject: Planning For Retirement

Outside England’s Bristol Zoo there is a parking lot for 150 cars and 8 buses. For 25 years, its parking fees were managed by a very pleasant attendant. The fees were 1 pound sterling for cars ($1.40), and 5 quid for buses (about $7).

Then, one day, after 25 solid years of never missing a day of work, he just didn’t show up; so the zoo management called the city council and asked it to send them another parking agent.

The council did some research and replied that the parking lot was the zoo’s own responsibility. The zoo advised the council that the attendant was a city employee. The city council responded that the lot attendant had never been on the city payroll.

Meanwhile, sitting in his villa somewhere on the coast of Spain or France or Italy is a man who’d apparently had a ticket machine installed completely on his own and then had simply begun to show up every day, commencing to collect and keep the parking fees, estimated at about $560 per day — for 25 years.

Assuming 7 days a week, this amounts to just over $7 million dollars ……. and no one even knows his name.

Congratulations to all four of you. I haven’t met beccaday but know the rest that have been elected and am confident in your qualifications to do an outstanding job on the Board. And, Rebecca, I hope you get a chance to get up my way some day to do some caching…there’s a Yellow Brick Road waiting for you.

Well Wayne, since you are the farthest away, depending on your route, its about 4.5 hrs from Albany to Hiles taking 39/51

its 6 hrs if you go thru milwaukee and up 43

I would like to start the hike about 10 am 11 at the latest.

thinking it will take about 3 hrs round trip.

                  Anyone have any time constraints?

You pretty much know my constraints…home by dark so I don’t turn into a pumpkin…or maybe I can catch a ride with someone. Kat and Don???

A wife asks her husband, “Could you please go shopping for me and buy one carton of milk and if they have avocados, get 6.”
A short time later the husband comes back with 6 cartons of milk.
The wife asks him, “Why did you buy 6 cartons of milk?”
                      He replied, “They had avocados.”

A teenage boy had just passed his driving test and inquired of his father as to when they could discuss his use of the car.
His father said he’d make a deal with his son, “You bring your grades up from a C to a B average, study your Bible a little, and get your hair cut. Then we’ll talk about the car.”
The boy thought about that for a moment, decided he’d settle for the offer, and they agreed on it.
After about six weeks his father said, “Son, you’ve brought your grades up and I’ve observed that you have been studying your Bible, but I’m disappointed you haven’t had your hair cut.
“The boy said, “You know, Dad, I’ve been thinking about that, and I’ve noticed in my studies of the Bible, that Samson had long hair, John the Baptist had long hair, Moses had long hair, and there’s even strong evidence that Jesus had long hair.”

                              Dadรขโ‚ฌโ„ขs reply:
“Did you also notice they all walked everywhere they went?”
