Arghhhh 😡 I had another one stolen recently. I archived a cache in a park that had an ammo box stolen from the shoreline riprap it was hidden in and placed a new one…magnetic key holder in an artillery piece. I thought that might be a little more difficult for someone to find and make off with. Apparently I thought wrong. This is getting ridiculous.
I checked on another cache that had been stolen previously…it was still there…had changed it to a “premium only” cache. But a neighbor who is aware of it stopped to talk with me. He told me a couple of out-of-town cachers he had talked to this past spring reported coming across a couple of trashed ammo cans while caching north of town….mine??? I decided to check on some of the caches in that area but found nothing…didn’t expect to since it’s been several months. Maybe I should change all of my caches to “premium only” caches…will see what happens. :bartrod:

I found one just last week…about 10 ft. away from a new placement. I had found the archived one several years ago and, just as an afterthought, checked to see if the container was still there…it was…and I removed it so it didn’t get confused with the new one…then notified the owner. :bartrod:

I think it was north of Bailey’s Harbor…maybe closer to Sister Bay.

While on a Paczki hunt one morning up nort, we ended up at a little crossroads bakery that knew what they were, but offered up something they said was even better: Kolaches! Not sure they were better, but they certainly hit the spot equally well. And, like pizza and Pazkis, they are great for morning, noon and night.

                    But ahhhhhhh, for want of a malasada……………. 🙁 🙁

Oh, yum!!! You just HAD to mention kolaches! I have a recipe for kolaches…my mother used to bake them when I was a kid…have tried my hand at it a couple of times myself. I found a little bakery that made them on “the quiet side” up in Door Co….also Kewaunee has a bohemian festival every summer and you’ll find plenty of kolaches to be had around there that weekend. :bartrod:

Screamin’ Mimi 60’s deviled eggs…she usually makes up a batch before we go caching. They’re to DIE for!!! Not necessarily healthy…but go-o-o-od…really look forward to them after a hike in the woods 😀

Deejay has a good point. Your unit will only hold so many caches. If you haven’t emptied them out of its memory, it might explain why it’s doing what it is. Marc 54140 brought this to my attention shortly after I bought mine…he also had one. If you don’t know how to empty all the old PQ’s/caches out of your unit, PM me and I’ll walk you through it. :bartrod:

I have the 62s and haven’t had that problem, but did have another trying to download a cache from the Geocaching.com cache page. It couldn’t find the plug-in even though it was downloaded. Garmin referred me to Groundspeak cuz it was their plug-in…then Groundspeak referred me back to Garmin cuz they created the plug-in for Groundspeak. I really got the run-around. The impression that I got from the Groundspeak forums was that Garmin is definitely trying to push their own caching website. As I was about to contact Garmin again, the issue suddenly and inexplicably resolved itself. It didn’t work for weeks…then it did! Just like that without any action being taken.
I did get a warning from a cacher on the Groundspeak forums to NOT try any updates on my unit from Garmin…his unit went berserk when he did. With that in mind, good luck. Try a different PQ and rerun it…maybe it was a corruption on the PQ from Groundspeak, maybe GSAK corrupted the file…but try it again. Good luck.
