          We’ll be back on or about the 17th…have to get our taxes done or we’d be here longer. And now I’m off to do some surf fishing again…hope they’re biting today. 🙂

                We visited the LBJ National Historic Park…found several ammo boxes for the souvenir. I thought the national parks didn’t allow physical caches but they were all placed by the NPS. This was a great experience…LBJ would have been one of our greatest Presidents if he hadn’t escalated the Viet Nam War. Had dinner at the Pecan Street Brewery…another great experience 🙂

                    Me too! Corpus had frost last night…not on the island though. One of my friends in Oconto said a couple of robins were spotted yesterday. Spring can’t be far behind…better be! I sold my ice auger and ice fishing equipment before leaving…invested it in surf fishing gear 🙂

                      And now I’m jealous…in three years here we haven’t seen a single armadillo! No rattlesnakes either…which is a good thing.

                          So, in other words…..all of them? We got about that many ourselves, plus other weird things that hit us in the head while watching the parade. We did more Mardi Gras stuff last night at the craft brewery and made some friends. Took us until almost time to go home for that, but hey! We might get together for dinner one night this week, we’ll see.

                          Oh, no! I kept the green and gold ones 🙂 My wife collected anything and everything. The art teacher at the high school requested them for projects. She’s also getting all the seashells my wife picks up every morning on her walks.
                          I see the hodag is back…does this mean six more weeks of winter???

                              I went surf fishing today for the first time…and was successful. We had fresh fish for dinner this evening 🙂 Looking forward to the Mardi Gras parade on the beach Saturday…hope the weather cooperates. There’s a cold front moving in tonight…only supposed to be in the 50’s for the next three days. When rain is forecast here it’s basically a light off-and-on drizzle. The last four days have been terrific though…entertained some friends from WI on two of them. No caches were harmed in the entertaining.

                                We spent the afternoon at the Padre Island Nat’l Seashore…kite day! There were a couple of huge ones they couldn’t get up in the air cuz there wasn’t enough wind…still was a cool spectacle to see 🙂
