Maybe, maybe not. I know of people having to go to Menomonee Falls for a hotel because everything was booked in West Bend. Maybe this would help provide more places for people to sleep locally.
Oh the woes of the short geocacher!
Ah yes, my goodie bag didn’t contain a swimming coupon, which my kids were disappointed about. But I just asked around and there were plenty of people not using theirs so I got one anyway. And regarding swimming, the coupon says that it’s good for all weekend and yet they take your coupon when they give you a daily writstband so then you need another coupon. So again, on Saturday I just asked around and found someone that wasn’t using their coupon for swimming.

Pike Lake is so beautiful in the fall! I hid the Dr. Seuss series in the fall and I sometimes wish I could tell people to wait to find them until the fall. The final, in particular, is hidden in a place that is stunning in the fall but not anything terribly special the rest of the year.

I met them on the trail Saturday by the puzzle/puzzle cache. I did not know he was the Vlogger.
I saw him after the picture and then introduced myself like a silly fangirl. I would have loved to cache with him and his son.

I plan on being back at Pike Lake next month for your series, Becca, among all the other caches that has been placed since I last visited Pike Lake 4 years ago.
That’s great! Pike Lake is such a beautiful park. I hope all goes well for you! I should probably recheck on all those caches after the Bash traffic.

We waited to show up until 1:25 or so and walked straight up to the table with no one in front of us. Only took us 6 yrs to learn that trick.
I had a similar experience, no line at all for me.

What route are you taking?

Wow! Bushwhacking Queen and Goldie Diggers both posting in the WGA forums?! I’m impressed! Thank you both for your comments.
One nice thing from hearing about all this stuff is that it truly makes you appreciate how much work goes into planning this event. Wow! Thank you to all who were involved in the planning. I’ve only been to two Bashes but I enjoyed them both. I look forward to seeing what the committee comes up with for next year!

Congratulations on 4K! A very fitting tribute cache. I solved it and meant to go find it last weekend but it didn’t work out. Way to go!

Welcome to the WGA! This is a great place to chat with other geocachers, ask questions, share stories, etc.

I still don’t even have all of the caches in Waukesha found. I should probably get out and finish them up!

So here’s one thing that I love about the Bash. On Friday night we were sitting around the tables at Regner chatting because we were tired from caching. I know all kinds of geocachers but my husband isn’t quite as obsessed as I am and mostly knows just our local regulars. Anyway, he started talking to some guys from Delaware who wanted to know where they could get a good Wisconsin brat. Well we were planning on grilling some Usinger brats that night and so we invited them to join us. They went to the local grocery store and purchased a few things and we had dinner together. We had a great time talking with them. They were working on a challenge where they were trying to find caches with lots of favorite points and so we filled them in on all of the best local caches. We also ended up meeting people from Texas, Minnesota, Indiana, North Carolina, etc. I also got to meet up with people whose caches I’d found around the state but never gotten to put a face to a name.
AND I got to meet The Geocaching Vlogger, now that was cool! I was like a silly fan girl. 🙂

LOL, great story! Congratulations.

Hello and welcome to the WGA! I’m from Waukesha as well, maybe I’ll run into you one day out on the trails or at an event.

My first hide is GC2D3BP. It’s fairly lame but it’ll do. It’s still active.
