I’m having a hard time casting my vote. I haven’t encountered any problems personally, I think it’s a fun game and runs well the way it is. But then again, if there are members who have noticed little things that could be updated I don’t think there’s any harm in some tweaking. As someone who plays board games regularly I have to say that it really is best to play by the rules to make things fair for all.
And on a related note, a big thanks to all who put their time and efforts into running the LCG!

Congratulations to the Puffins! Way to keep all those caches found so they aren’t too lonely. 🙂

The local artisan tour is pretty cool. I wish we could have visited when we knew about geocaching, it would have been a fun way to explore the area. But we stayed up on the Blue Ridge in some condos. It took a while to drive anywhere but it was a great experience. We managed to find this tiny little restaurant that served frog legs and the best hush puppies I’ve ever had. We stumbled upon it, not sure if I could ever find it again if I were trying. Have fun!

I’m afraid I haven’t racked up any LCG points in a little while, this whole pneumonia thing really has slowed me down. But I think we have a great game going and I look forward to the event. I think the 10 day thing could be a bit tricky, what if someone was on a week-long trip somewhere that they couldn’t get to internet access and cached so much and took so many pictures (is this anyone else besides me and Hack1of2?) that it takes them a few days to log their finds and catch up. But on the other hand, I can see how you wouldn’t want it to go too far out either. Maybe 2-3 weeks instead?

That was great!

I think so, there are sitll some people that have VCR’s. Ours died years ago and I didn’t want to replace it so I gave mine all away. I’ve started weeding through my DVD’s that the kids have outgrown and have used them as swag before.

I don’t think it’s a good idea to replace a container that’s missing if the CO isn’t active anymore. I think it’s time to archive in that case. Only if the cache is something extraordinary and the person replacing it is going to take measures to adopt it should it be replaced.

When I was caching in Hawaii it seemed that Munzee had just hit the scene there and was all the rage. CO’s were putting their Munzee’s inside of caches, kind of like a bonus find.

How funny!

I agree, it is the responsibility of the bug owner. As a CO I’ve marked bugs missing before when people have let me knkow, or posted a note on the bug page, but I’m not going to go out and try and track down the bug.

That would be my advice too. It’s a good idea to contact the CO first, usually they are happy to get you started since most CO’s want their caches to be found. Not all though! Good luck.

Now I’m intrigued! Maybe I’ll head out there some day and give this a whirl. Good luck rfchisholm!

My husband didn’t ask his name, I think he wanted him to be able to maintain some privacy. I’m just really curious about the puzzle though! And my husband didn’t have a car, not sure about Rich Sommers, and I believe they were in the middle of some kind of tournament. Can you believe that geocaching isn’t everyone’s top leisure priority?! 🙂
