Well that’s strange, I thought it was broken for the longest time but it turns out that it just wasn’t working for me with Chrome.  But it works fine for me in IE for me, also Firefox.

Oh the woes of the short geocacher!

That’s true. Some people put money in the donation ammo cans. Me, I just pay for campsites that I don’t use.

Congratulations Chiroptera79!  I’d love to hear more about the bats, too.  I am a fan of anything that eats mosquitoes.  😉

Chris, if you go to Canyonlands National Park, I just LOVED the hike to this EarthCache:  GC1N2QC

And this is the iconic area shot of the Colorado river:  GCZCZM  I didn’t get to do that one but wish I would have had the time to visit there.

And on the way we stopped at GC11YHR.  That one was a quick PNG (mostly) but it was a cool view.

Anything in Arches NP is gorgeous!  You will love it there.  I really wanted to do the hike to the Delicate Arch but it was 106 degrees when we were there and we didn’t quite have enough water for that hike.  But the EC there has several different options for completing it if you can’t make it all the way up to the arch.

And for a quick, fun one in Moab visit GCXK9D.

If you’re taking I25 and like weird things, I’d recommend stopping at this virtual:  GCG0E3.  My mom used to take me here when I was a kid and I think it’s about quadrupled in size since then.  And if you do take I25 wave by the Loveland exit, that’s where I grew up.  🙂

Sadly, I actually don’t know the best caches to do in Denver.  I rarely go to the city for caching when I’m visiting my family.  Now if you were heading to any mountain towns I could recommend a thing or two.  Also, if you want stops on your routes I could recommend a few things too.  Which route are you taking?

I know that there is a Geocaching Colorado group, like our WGA, and they have a website.  You could probably look on there for info.  I believe there’s a whole page/section on the GeoWoodstock.  http://www.geocachingcolo.com/

Who knows? Maybe a bit of “sniping” will reenter the game, like in the good ol’ days!

                  I hope not!

The historic challenge cache is GC1JA35…..I think I retained all the characters in short term memory. Two left. One is in northern Minnesota, so it would depend. Becca, I highly recommend Marinette County waterfalls in early October. Worth chasing, still one of my favorite trips.p

Interesting, I have only found 2 of the caches on that list so far.  I’ll have to keep that in mind when I cross the river.

Thanks for the tip on the waterfalls, I will look into that.  We visited a few up there the year that the WGA picnic was at Thompson, I’d love to see more!  In fact, Mr. Greenthumb talked about hosting an event/waterfall tour when we were visiting in the campground that weekend.  I’m still waiting for that event Mr. G!  😉

Life remains the same for us…cache less but explore more. We are looking forward to our Yellowstone/Devils Tower trip in the fall….hike, hike and hike some more! The only remaining goals are to finish Minnesota’s virtuals and the historic cache challenge. Very close on both, but a couple of the virts are virtually unapproachable for the foreseeable future.

My kids did the Jr. Rangers program at Devil’s Tower (of course) and one of the questions asked about what the trees smell like.  So while you’re there, take a whiff of the bark and think about what it smells like.   🙂

I just checked and I have 243 EarthCache finds.  So 7 more to go and I’ll be at the Garnet Discovery Award.  Hmmm….where should I go to finish those off?

Since my first post in this thread I have finished finding a cache in every WI county but have yet to find the challenge cache to commemorate the occasion.

I have only one more spot to fill on my Jasmer challenge, not sure how that will be accomplished yet.

I finished the WGA State Parks Series.  Hooray!

I signed the log on the Delorme Challenge so now I really should finish that one off.  I don’t have TOO many pages left to go.  I really like the idea of hunting down waterfalls, although I doubt I will attack that one with such fervor as I did the SPS.  I also like the classic caches, might work on that one.

I do not see a post by Linda in this thread. I responded the way I did because Lois had visited our challenge cache yesterday and posted this query. I knew she was talking about our challenge hide.

Oh my goodness, that was so stupid.  I meant to say Lois and had a moment of stupidity.  My bad!  Probably because I believe that Linda has signed the log on the confluence challenge but hasn’t claimed it as found.

There’s also the Confluence challenge in Eau Claire.  I believe that’s what Linda is talking about.
