My kids and I watched the video and were all laughing uproariously! All 3 kiddos want to do it. I may not tell them that wouldn’t be possible, I think they should train for it anyway.
Oh the woes of the short geocacher!
I just sent a polite email asking the holder to get my geocoin moving and they did! Hooray!

I know this is intended as a lighthearted thing, but I’ll just dredge up an old thread with a little different slant on all of this.

There are some in the geocaching world who have personal reasons for wishing to avoid looking at what we do in terms of “addiction.” I’ll just say it… part of the reason we got active in geocaching was to momentarily escape problems with addiction issues with a family member, which was really ripping our family up. We were literally in the midst of doing serious interventions with someone, interventions that probably kept that individual alive. I can laugh at some of this stuff now, because we saw movement forward, but I also know that for those folks, it’s always a tenuous hold on things. Just something to think about….
Very good point birdin. It is true that just about anything can be taken too far. I’m sorry for your struggles.

Well, that’s good news for me. I had other plans for that weekend in May but should probably be able to make the weekend in June. 🙂

I thought the campout was 5/18-20? Or am I getting 2 different events confused?

I’d have to second that. It’s been great fun going after the caches. And I leave for an attempt at the final in about an hour. Wish me luck!

Thanks so much Team Deejay! Much better!

Need to do a geocache today because I’m filling in my calendar. But there’s just so much snow! Trying to figure out this feature. I use firefox as my browser but you need to download the maps? From where?

Congratulations on the milestone! It was great to run into you and the boys at the geoidols the other day. 🙂

Well, I hadn’t been doing this for too long anyway but the way that I geocache changed for me when they added the stats tab to our profiles. It made me realized that I had far too many 1.5/1.5’s and that I needed to branch out more.

I’ve used both aluminum and fiberglass frames and I thought they were both good. Make sure you get them long enough to fully support your weight so you won’t get buried in the fluffy stuff. Boot covers are great too, even if you have waterproof boots.
