Has anyone ever roasted peeps before? I know, I know, it sounds crazy. Peeps are disgusting! But let me tell you, you roast them over the fire and then the sugar coating crystalizes. Delicious!

This thread is making me hungry!

I actually sent a message to the CO to see if they planned on doing maintenance any time soon and got the following response:
“Hi Becca,
Thanks for reaching out to me. My son and I checked the cache this Tuesday, after the prior logs were written, and can verify that it’s still in place. I emailed one of the guys from the group and it sounds like they had problems with logistics – a canoe isn’t a very good diving platform – and perhaps bad luck with visibility. I’ll be on vacation the week after next, but any other time just let me know when you’re planning to look for the Morley and my son and I will be happy to verify its condition for you. If you have any other questions as time approaches, I’m also glad to help there as well. Take care”
What a great cache owner! 🙂

Ah yes, we’ve been looking into options for getting down there. And if you’re serious RSplash, that would be great! My 8-year-old really wants to do this cache. At least one adult (my husband or I) would go down with him while the other one of us would stay up with the boat(s). It will require some more planning but I would love to do it.

Oh no! I just noticed that the last few logs on the shipwreck are DNF’s. I don’t have a date yet but it would have to be in a few weeks so maybe it will be fixed by then.

I just saw the new cache posted. Yep, that’s a stereogram alright. Same results as the one in Ohio. Now I’m 0 for 2.
🙁 No! Just keep staring at it, it’ll come to you.
😆 on the rest of the comments here. The cache is GC30Z84 if anyone else wants to give it a try.

OK, it’s hidden. A cache dedicated to Hack1of2. Now I just have to wait for approval.

We have some hunting land up near there that we could place a bunch of temporary caches but the only ones we’d want permenantly would be one in a guardrail or something right on the road. As much as I’d love to put a whole bunch of caches out there I don’t think our family wants to worry about who is on the property when hunting or just target practice.

I’m sorry, I can’t help because I live too far away. But I think that’s a great idea to ask for help from a mentor. I hope that it works out for you. Anyone else live close enough?

Just had a great meal at the Thorpedo in …. Wait for it….
Thorp!
Huge portions at reasonable prices
Easy on off at the Thorp exit on 29
I’ve always thought that was the funniest restaurant name I’d ever seen. I even kept their placemat taped to the inside of my kitchen cabinet so I could open it up when I needed a quick laugh. 😆

So I see the numbers now but I must confess that they are still just a little difficult to make out. Plus, there seems to be more there than you need, another part of the puzzle I suppose. But this is pretty intriguing, may have to create my own cache like this and dedicate it to the Hacks. 🙂

Thanks everybody! It was such a great trip. And yes, it’s an amazing place.
But you missed this one on the way out: GC14XCF 😆
Guess it will be up to us to go for that FTF next month! 😉
Sadly, yes I did. I was a little afraid of the “a bunch of miles”. But you go ahead and go get it sandlanders! 😆

My first thought when I read that post from groundspeak was Mr. Greenthumb.
