Silly question …
Oh, and no, that isn’t a silly question. It has definitely been asked before and a very valid question. 🙂
Oh the woes of the short geocacher!
Not all of the board has chimed in yet but the few of us who have discussed this have made a ruling that anyone can participate in the race as long as you get your bug to the picnic. All of the participating bugs need to be there and go home with someone else. Typically the board takes them and divies them up. So, yes, Furry Hermit, send your bug with someone attending the picnic and we will get it in the race.

We have put out a call for volunteers several times over the last few years for the website and haven’t found anyone volunteering that is able to do the job. You’re right, it’s a big job to ask of one person to do all by themselves. Let’s all remember that this is a hobby and we all have our own personal stuff, jobs, families, etc. in our lives that need to come first before WGA stuff. So yes, it would be very nice if someone out there with coding experience could share the responsibilities. Our current webmaster has done so much for the WGA, and his work is invaluable to the organization! It would be very nice to find someone that he could share the responsibilities with. For those of you in the WGA that are reading this, if you are or know someone who has these particular talents, please consider donating some of your time to this awesome organization.
And on a related note, we couldn’t get by without the help of our volunteers. A huge thanks go out to all who have helped in the past. And for those of you who have talents that you would be willing to share with the group, please consider doing so. You can post in the forums or contact any of the board members (or past, I’m sure) with your ideas. Thank you!

I have to agree with Zuma that there are a lot of really interesting caches out there! I am most familiar with the Milwaukee area, having done most of my caching there, there are some truly creative caches out there. I have been truly impressed by many caches that I’ve found there and think that the area would rival any other in the whole country, as far as creative caches. This is why I often tend to look for caches hidden by particular hiders, as I know that they will be especially interesting. I mean, there’s even one in Waukesha with a working trebuchet where cachers get to throw potatoes into the nearby water!

I feel like I only use about 5% of all that I could do with GSAK, but I especially like using it for statistics and loading PQs.

I bought two new classroom fish tonight. What should I name them?

Did A home visit outside of town today and passed by the sunflowers. They are all drooping. There was a very old woman getting out of a vehicle for a picture near them.

I really liked the one in Rhinelander. It is a hotel like a dollhouse with rooms for the bugs.

First day back at school today. Looks like I’ll be supporting a teacher fresh out of college this year.

What a rotten way to spend your 6th birthday. Poohs Pal wiped out on the monkey bars at the park. Seems to be a sprain or jammed wrist but no break. He is the quietest I’ve ever seen him not asleep, propped on the couch with ice on said wrist.
Poor kiddo. As someone who typically has very bad birthdays, I can tell that the bad stuff always seems worse when it happens on your birthday. Give him extra snuggles today.

I got two more spots filled on my Jasmer challenge with Colorado’s and Missouri’s first geocaches.

My caches have all been logged now but there are some that I logged during vacation that I haven’t uploaded pictures to yet. Nearly done…
