This is bumming me out. I really want to place some new caches but finding the room has been tricky. I think I have a plan though.

It’s the middle of the page!

Ooh, I may possibly be interested except the date MIGHT be challenging. I’ll look into it again and get back to you.

Made a quick trip to the twin cities today.

Yes, the squirrel takes a few days to count the SPS. I’m impatiently waiting for my new badge.

So I switched to a different map on GC.COM that shows county lines. Looks like there’s about 5 or 6 caches left that I have to get in Menominee County, MI. One is on the river. So I’ll have to wait for hard water season to get it. The rest of them, I made it a goal to get them this month as 3 of them are together in one area, two in another and the last one near me on an ATV trail. I may have to take my bicycle in for that one. Looking forward to clearing out my home county. Thankfully, I don’t live in Marinette County. That is a HUGE area with far more caches, especially in the backwoods that my car cannot get to such as Potato Lake.
Really? What map?

I had a kid completely trash the classroom today. Ah, the joys of working in a school! But I also had a whole bunch of kids give me hugs and tell me that they love me too, so it’s all good. 🙂

Such great advice! There really isn’t a lot for me to add except that geocachers tend to be a friendly and helpful bunch as long as you’re respectful of the game. If you have more questions, feel free to ask them here and someone will give you some advice. I hope we see you at some of the WGA events.
As for the state parks, I think my favorite is Devil’s Lake or Interstate SP’s. The ones in Door County, especially Rock Island, are especially cool because of the peninsula. Ooh, Harrington Beach is so beautiful too! And the rock formations at Rocky Arbor are just awesome. The big waterfall at Willow River is pretty impressive.
My favorite spots near the Madison area would be GCYQAX, GC212ZC, and Cave of the Mounds.

Still haven’t been there but I saw in the paper that the hotel there is celebrating its centennial this summer.
Skip the hotel, too many ppl in an isolated and expensive spot, unless you are going to hike down to the lake. Take a picnic, spend the day and go back to Eugene or someplace else. Of course, that is only my opinion. I enjoyed the redwoods in northern CA more.
When I visited there we had quite the experience. It was our last day of our spontaneous drive across the country and we were tired. We thought we’d splurge on staying in the hotel since it was nearly 1 AM. Nope, the hotel was completely full so we had to go to the campground. We set up camp in the dark and it had such an eerie, creepy feeling, I don’t know why. We kept having to move to find a spot that had enough spot for a tent without snow (it was July, BTW). There were signs everywhere about bear and so I was freaked out. We woke up in the morning and just seeing it all in the light made me feel better about my surroundings. That campground had the worst mosquitoes I’d ever experienced.

Where are all the TS’ers????
I’m trying to decide where to go this summer. So many places, so little time and money.
