So BJ had seen “Fargo,” huh? LOL I had to take linguistics for my speech path degree and really enjoyed that class. It has served me fairly well solving some kinds of puzzles! Who knew?

With any luck, folks will soon be able to begin to crack the code known as “Yoopanese.” More to follow when inspired.
This isn’t exactly yoopanese, but similar… So my husband was an arabic linguist in the army for a while. The first day at the Defense language Institute his commander asked the class if they could translate the language he’d written on the board. He had been using this same code for years and no one had ever been able to read it. My husband got it right away and stunned the room. The commander had taken a thick northern Minnesota accent (think Ole and Lena) and written it out phonetically.
And on a related note, one of his classmates was from Kentucky. It’s pretty weird hearing arabic being spoken with a thick Kentucky accent.

becca … the sign post was extra tall because it has to be seen as cars come down off a overpass, the sign alone is 8 feet up so even reaching it without it being shoved too far in is a challenge. I had a 24 inch bbq tong and could just touch it. I’m not short though. CO graciously let me log it as a find when I described the location and gave the final coords.
Now just imagine that about half of the caches on signs were like that for you. Ugh! I’ve grabbed stuff out of my car to stand on, parked by them and hung out the window, used items from my car to knock them down and thrown children on my shoulders to get to them. Most people think of these as less than a minute to get but for me it usually involves several minutes and a lot of ingenuity.
