My dog is very annoyed with me that we’re not having a more exciting day.

Oh the woes of the short geocacher!

Over the past 2 years since I’ve been on the Board I’ve attended most of the events.  I missed last year’s Lonely Cache Game event because my kids were sick and my husband had been in a car accident and wasn’t much a caregiver at the time.  But I attended our other events and enjoyed spending time working at them.  It’s important for Board members to know that Board members are expected to work at these events, although there’s often at least a little time for fun as well.  Sometimes I attend these events with my family and sometimes I come alone, usually I at least bring my daughter.  I’ve trained my kids that we help at these events, just like with other activities we are involved in (like our church, 4H, etc.) and they’ve pitched in to help too.  I do put WGA events as a very high priority, but there may be just a few family things that could top this.  If I would have to miss these events I would at least help out with the planning, which is the majority of the effort anyway.  I have to say, even though it is “work” helping out at our events, I usually have a great time.  It isn’t the worst thing to have to stay around the group areas to help and chat with our members.  I’ve made some great friends and had some really interesting conversations.

I think that the past two years shows my commitment to the WGA.  I am on the website several times most days and have put a lot of energy into planning events, contacting members, writing the newsletter, building relationships, talking with parks departments, etc.  I love the game of geocaching and the organization of the WGA.  But I don’t like to think of it as work, I enjoy putting in the effort and I hope that people enjoy the things that I’ve helped come up with.

Good thing I’m off work this week as my daughter is horribly sick.  🙁

If elected I promise to make a campaign promise that the new BOD member will come to each members house and shovel their walk! I’m a giver. :)

I think I need to withdraw!

My favorite color is blue, and I don’t think that’s the worst color for a firetruck as they carry water.  If you’re going for visibility they should probably match our Event Staff t-shirts as those suckers can be seen from space!  But I don’t know, I kind of like red firetrucks and can’t really imagine them as being another color.

Now, that is just a figure of speech. No cats have been juggled, jostled or cajoled during any official WGA business.

Well, except for that one black one…

Sheesh, I don’t remember you asking me a question at the chili event so I was probably the one that failed.

Come on over to the Chippewa Valley if you’d like some snow.  We just got another inch or two this morning.

I have been happy to hold the role of Secretary the past year.  I have fast typing fingers!  If my peers would like to vote me into this position again, I’d accept.

Not sure how I missed this question before, I apologize.

I plan to continue my role working on the newsletter.  I hope to add a few contests and promotions to make it all a little more fun, as well as informative.

I’d like to make it a point to reach out to different parts of the state to see if members would like to host WGA-sponsored CITO’s or any other events.  I’d also like to teach a few more Geo 101’s, or help others that would like to do this, so that we can educate those who are new to the game.

I’d also like to continue to talk to people around the state and get a feeling for what they’d like from the WGA.
