FTP?
Oh the woes of the short geocacher!
I wonder how many hours I will work tomorrow…
Oh the woes of the short geocacher!
I am going to need a huge snow storm (but no power outages) to keep me inside so that I can get caught up on all of BBG’s zoo critters jigsaw puzzles. I’m still waiting for the one of the rhinos, though.

Snow storm? We don’t call it that in here! 😉

Spent the last few hours sitting at a waterpark filling out paperwork.

Just got back from my boy’s parent teacher conferences. Nothing too shocking, glad to see they’re adjusting well since the move.

Who can tell that I’m not working today? Yup, that’s my avatar as the last post in almost every category! LOL So what do you do when your work hours are cut? Catch up on the WGA.

Thank you for your work already Jim. I think we were all trying to get through the chili event, but we don’t want this event to sneak up on us so I’m glad for your diligence. As was said before, this event is largely member-planned and executed. You could plan it in this thread or you could find another way to plan it. I believe Chris has spoken with you about the volunteers so far, right? I can be your board contact person for anything you’d need. For example, would you like to create the cache page and then transfer it to the WGA? Or would you like us to do it? Either way is fine. Feel free to respond here or PM me. Thank you for your hard work and participation!

01/22/2015 at 11:11 am in reply to: April 25th Second Annual Geocaching/Hiking Event – Rusk County Felsenmeer #2033963It’s already on my calendar. I have every intention of coming, as long as some sort of family thing doesn’t come up. I look forward to it!

First of all, I started geocaching in spring 2010. I don’t remember exactly the first time I clicked on the WGA banner on a cache page but I was a newbie. It brought me to the site but I didn’t know if I should be there or not. I perused a bit but I didn’t join in on anything and then kind of forgot about it. Then February 2011 I attended the WGA chili event because it was really close to home and that was my first introduction to the WGA. I believe Zuma was the president that year and he enthusiastically greeted our family and introduced us to a few people. We liked that event and it wasn’t long before I started participating in the forums. I was so nervous the first time I posted in the Thread Stealers forum, wasn’t sure if I was welcome in there or not but everyone was friendly in there with the useless drivel and when I needed things like “craphas” explained or what a FTP was, someone would always cheerfully let me know. I then planned to attend the 2011 spring campout but had to cancel at the last minute because my daughter was sick. But I’ll never forget how friendly everyone was, people even offered to help me pitch my tent and set up camp if my husband stayed home with our daughter. I mean, I hadn’t even met these people! So after that of course I was hooked on the WGA and have been very involved ever since, attending most WGA events and regularly participating in the forums.

Buzz buzz buzz buzz!!!!! I am on the WGA site many times most days. I feel this is the best way to stay informed of all that is going on with our group. I have been very involved in the planning of most of our activities (events and other projects). There have been times in my life which have been extra crazy (moving, wow is that a lot of work!) and I’ve stepped back a bit and participated a little less but I think that’s OK as it happens to us all. I’ve been able to attend almost all of our events, large and small, since I’ve been on the board but even the few that I’ve missed I’ve been a part of the planning, which is the biggest part anyway. You’re right, many hands make less work and I have appreciated having those active board members step up and share the load, it makes this job really fun.
