Welcome to the WGA! And congratulations on being a cancer survivor, what a blessing. I hope to run into you again on the forums or out on the trails.

I agree, What the Cluck is such a fun cache!

How about Pike Powder Hike GC3B1, Wisconsin’s oldest cache. You could find my Dr. Seuss caches while you were at it. 😉 The Astronomy Trail cache in that park is pretty cool too.

              I will be there.

Great, see you there. 😀 The good news is that the restroom is near where we’ll be set up and so you can just change there if you’d like.

Thanks for the explanation Sandlanders. I was working up something for the newsletter but this is helpful until it comes out.

Wow, I’m at #15. How cool! I wasn’t expecting that. I suppose that’s definitely an advantage to be in a more populated area. But still, kinda cool.

So last year we had an interesting situation. My husband is always meeting people and bonding with them wherever we go. So he ended up talking with two men from Delaware that were attending the Bash. They asked where the best place was to get good brats. Well we were planning on grilling at Regner and had brought a huge package of Usingers brats for the night. My husband told them that we had the best ones around and told them they were welcome to join us. They ended up going to the grocery store and bought some side items to share with us and we ended up with our own mini-potluck. We ended up chatting with some really interesting people, it was a good experience.

I really don’t think people should log each stage as found, and I don’t think that is a common practice anymore. If people are in it for the numbers there are plenty of guardrails and power trails. If they’re going to go find one that’s a multi they know what they’re getting themselves into. I think that the people that are attracted to the “journey” will go for the long multis and the ones that are attracted to the numbers will go for the PNG’s. I am glad that there’s something for everyone in this sort of game. Personally, I’d take a long multi over a hundred guardrail/sign post caches any day.

Chris had made up the ones that went on the State Parks Series caches. I wonder if we could do something similar?

I agree, the weather was awesome last weekend!

I really had a fun time doing the kids activities. It got a little crazy there for a little bit and there was one kid with a finished raft that never came back to collect it but it was really fun. Then later some of those kids came up to me and talked to me, which I enjoyed.

I also found it really funny how I kept seeing the same kids going and sneaking back over to the Kids Candy Cache over and over again. I may have to put it in less at a time in the future! 😉

I loved watching my sons playing as boys are supposed to play before all of the technology became so mainstream. They were playing in the dirt with sticks and other kids and got filthy. They climbed trees, splashed in the lake, played with the dog, ran around in the woods. It was fabulous!

I only hung around the fire the first night because I was so sleepy the second night. I guess I’m getting old. But the first night was really fun!

It was exciting to hear Chris announce the State Parks program after spending so much time thinking and planning it over the last year and a half.

I also enjoyed speaking briefly with nearly everyone who came to the pancake breakfast. We have some excellent people in the WGA!

And the night cache contest was way cool! I love how that’s something that my kids get really excited about. It was fun walking around with AuntieNae and watching the kids discover the stuff in the woods.

Thanks again to all who helped out. Great thread Sandlanders!
